Could anyone give me some advice? [model looking to create solo site]

Hi all,

Okay, being as I am a beginner, I am aware of this possibly coming across as naive. I have little idea on how to start in this, or even if this thread is a good idea, but the whole point I'm here is to obtain help to get me started. So if anyone has any input for me at all, I'd be very grateful.

I am looking to get my own solo site started up; I want to generate as wide an array of fetish-based content as possible - both videos and picture series - and allow visitors to post in-depth suggestions for what they would like me to perform. I am keen on the idea of having a site with no joining fee or subscription - but with short previews of the videos to be freely seen - but a downloading fee for the complete video to be charged. With my currently limited know-how of how this works, I assume that this could attract visitors as it somehow seems more "safe" with no hidden subscription fees or monthly charges.

Being as the content I make will vary in terms of fetish, people could literally just pay for what they want, rather than pay a monthly fee for possibly just a tiny amount of what they actually want to see. Is this an effective way to generate traffic to my site? Or should I hone in on one particular fetish?
My reasons for what I would like to do (explore a wide array of fetishes), is purely because it would be something I enjoy, and I like the idea of keeping it versatile by constantly taking suggestions from my audience in order to never be out of content.

A list of content I would like to make stands at this so far:

[General]
* Stripping / Dancing
* Masturbation

[Other]
* - Tights / Stockings

- Wet n Messy
* - - Ice Cream
* - - Pissing.

Cosplay / Furry
- Hoodie Fetish
- Clown / Jester
- Dominatrix
/ Leather
/ Rubber
/ Bondage
* - Schoolgirl.
- Slag In A Business Suit.
- Alice in Wonderland.

* Bath & Shower
* - - Talc

Tickling

* Upskirt
* Smoking
* Audio
* Sex Toys

Should I narrow this down? If so, by how much? Aside the general masturbating and stripping schtick, I am fondest of upskirt, smoking, legs / stockings, and schoolgirl content. Or would there be some novelty and more longevity in having people give me constant suggestions for things they'd like to see me do?

I have an array of images and a small number of videos (I go by the name of Whisperly on Pornhub where you can check out the pictures and videos so far) which are currently quite short, quite low quality webcam videos (I have upgraded recently to a Microsoft Lifecam Cinema HD; I use a Canon DSLR for all of my self-portraits). I have been active on Literotica ampics as a poster and generated a respectable fanbase. I plan on utilizing this to generate my initial traffic, but beyond that, I have little know-how on how to go about advertising my site.

Please tell me it isn't impossible for me to get into this myself!

Having a solo site for my stuff is something I would dearly love to do for a living. I could use some realistic insight as to how I can go about it.

Thank you.

- SylphWire.

quick to get into and if proven to be quite the earner if you have a bunch of followers.
Sign up for one of the busiest sites, with plenty of customers here:
http://registration.livejasmin.com/i...id=adracoadult

About getting a site, I think that's a great idea and user interaction is the way to go. Question is if you should do it all by yourself or get under the umbrella of a program, which will run the operation for you, for a part of the revenue. Easy way to get yourself risk handling, experience from fraudulent behaviour, someone to ask/share ideas with and so on.

My first advice would probably be to hurry up and pick up a domain name. If you go with whisperly, go ahead and register it right away! At the very least the .com version of the name you want to use. Make sure that no matter what happens, YOU own the domain. Whatever happens, you can always walk away from any site/any arrangement but always, always keep YOUR domain. Never make that domain part of any agreement, make sure to always retain 100% control over it.

Have to go now, but have several ideas and comments, catch me on ICQ one day if you want to hear them

Good luck!

Thanks a ton!

Anyone have any input on making money from clips4sale? My boyfriend recommended that one to me, and I'd enjoy producing clips of the various fetishes on that site. Perhaps when I get my site up, I could simply link or embed my videos from clips4sale and earn profit that way? Hmmm...

Thanks again! Any more help and input is always appreciated.

Haven't tested it myself yet but AdultCentro.com seems to have a good setup for creating your own site but not sure if it has pay-per-download model - might be worth giving them a call and explain the rev model your are interested in. They seem to have daily download limitations and have templates for dvd/streaming store so it may well be possible to do pay-per-stream.

http://publisher.adultcentro.com/tour/billing

I think your best bet maybe would allow users to 'rent' full videos in a streaming format - a lot easier to protect from distribution and can keep them coming back later for the same vid but have to pay again ;)

A quick search for sites like these use this model: http://theater.aebn.net/dispatcher/m...heaterId=44205

Anyway, hope that helps a bit!

Solo girl is tough when your not already famous. Best advice I can give is to interact with your customers as much as possible. You need to be on your computer everyday answering their questions and performing. Hope you can keep it up. I do want to wish you good luck with your new project and I hope you get rich off the deal.

Like any other kind of website you're going to have to work hard at it to get it going. It does sound like a great idea however it'll still take the usual grind to make it work.

Oh and I've launched a new site and will likely sell advertising in a month.

The traffic is extremely encouraging and almost as good as search traffic itself. It contains a number of specific niches (like 'Pumping Cum into Pussy') and aims to be more granular about the fetishes which might be ideal for you to purchase a link under. I'll be selling them at very good rates and only 3 per niche.

A flip side is I get to see what's trending and what people suggest so can always give you some insight on popular granular niches which you could do some special content for and drive traffic to this area with a hardlink within the niche section on my site.

I'll let you know URL etc asap - you can get me on splythgoe at gmail dot com if interested and I honestly believe this will work a charm. 30% month on month growth at the moment!

I suggest using a self hosted wordpress install at first, unless youre looking for someone to help you with more advanced things.

I was wondering the responses you would get on this post...lol

there is an extreme amount of work involved on having your own site, shooting and editing the content is the easy part. I wake up on the computer and go to sleep on the computer, and even have a team working with me. I suggest you try clips4sale at first and if that gets going good for you, then look into making your own website, it's a good place for testing the water before jumping in. as the first guy mentioned, buy your domain name and always hold onto that! also make sure if you partner with someone that you own all rights to your content incase things don't work out.

good luck.

Thanks for your responses everyone. Change of plans, though: I'm going to become a camgirl.

I don't have anywhere near the means (financially or time-wise) of creating a site currently, or any money to pay out to someone to create one for me, and don't trust I have the know-how to maintain it all or get it off the ground. However, I would absolutely love to take classes or invest in books (once I have the moula) to learn everything and produce everything myself. Time and money.. money and time..

I DO however, have the time to spend on Streamate or MFC. I literally have copious amounts of time to spend on those. The only thing I need to pay for to get this going is my ID, and even that is JUST about manageable for me right now.

Money is tight.... But my pussy is tighter.

....*bursts into laugher* Yeah... it just felt right to say.

Thanks again everyone for your insights. I may not be taking up what I initially planned, but it's sure as hell helped me make a conclusion.

I suggest you start as a webcam performer and see first if you can make others wishes come true, then go for a deeper water and create your own website (this also means spend money - any website doesn't work anymore, it MUST be a good website). Try flirt4free, you can register here. They bring me as an affiliate health income, so I guess performers make a health profit as well.

Unfortunately, integrating payment gateways and making your own site (good rather than "OK") takes a lot of experience and knowledge. If you're used to thinking technical and solving problems, you could perhaps do it, sure. But I'd recommend either hiring someone to create the right site (like me) or find another solution, or you may very well find yourself stuck before you've even gotten started. Just saying.

Definitely own your own domain name at a .com though for sure!

And get good equipment but don't go overboard and white balanced light bulbs even if you dont get studio lights....

Also stick to one, two, 3 fetishes or types of content, preferably more related ones. Once you build that up, then experiment with adding new stuff.
When you cater to everyone, you cater to no one!

ya that is good advice about clips4sale. we have a lot of PornCMS customers that made some cash selling clips then come to us to open their paysite. clips4sale takes like 40% of your sales, we just charge a monthly fee for hosting.

when you want to open your site, visit PornCMS.com - we specialize in solo model sites and we have a plug-and-play software to make it easy for you to open a site. our software is hosted and even has a webcam room!

I'm a bigger fan of narrowing down you list for something. Be known for something and it'll make you marketing and efforts SO much easier. Take your list and find the things you enjoy doing on a personal basis this alone will put you miles ahead of other girls in terms of work.

If you need any help or technical direction please feel free to email me anytime!

Good luck!

I've created and maintained several sites for models. Clips4sale is good to start with. As you have more content then you can have other means to sell your content. There is quite a bit of work in maintaining your own site. You best option is to find someone to maintain the website and split the profits with them.

so much crap in this thread, webcam model pushers and pm2000, spamming their usual shit

go with clip4sale, having your own site is costly and you got to learn how to maintain it too. why start so hard ? clip4sale is so much easier.

maybe when you start paying $500 a month to the clip4sale commission, then its worth it to start your own site...
