QueenslandGirls.com.au - Joomla and Payment Processor
Greeting fellow GFYers,
First of all, thanks for the crazy amount of information on these boards, its really helpful, however I am having some trouble working out a few things out regarding payment porcessors etc. A little background on my site plan.. QueenslandGirls.com.au is developed in Joomla, I coded the templates and most of the modules in there. I have integrated Community Builder Plugin, which handles all the users, user profiles etc. This is all linked into a live Facebook style chat built into the site. I also have a Community forum run by Kunena, which Community Builder also sorts out. Currently the site has 93 members with about 60 of them returning weekly, Analytics show that i am getting around 40 - 60 unique visitors a day... I have not started advertising it properly yet. I let it go online as a free to sign up stating that from the day i turn it turn it into a paysite everyone has on month left before they have to start a subscription. Ive started it free so it can be sort of a live test phase, work out problems etc, see how it goes in the real world. Now its time to start looking at finishing off the subscription part of it. There is a commercial plug in that is called CBSubs and it is basically an add on to Community Builder, so moving over will be seamless. CBSubs offers a variety of Payment processors already integrated. The only reputable adult one (that i know of) is CCBill. Ive looked at CCBills rates and i am happy with them, the only problem i have is that CCBill does not allow Visa to be processed for Australian Merchants... If i was to set up an offshore bank account somehow/where then id be hit with a $750 visa processing set up fee. I did some further searching and found a nice little processor called Zombaio which seems promising, only trouble is its not supported in CBsubs, unless i do it myself, I am not much of a programmer, I can write php for templates and simple modules/plugins, but not sure on Credit Card Processors. The users still all show up in the User Manager so I am thinking that it shouldnt be too difficult to use another Processor. Does anyone have any useful information for me? Thanks |

So it appears i may have answered my own questions...
There is a popular little Advanced Account Management tool called "Account Expiration Control" or AEC. This has all the tools required to set up and manage subscriptions with over 70 already integrated Payment Processors. The package costs $146 and it is compatible with my User Community plug ins. Unfortunalty it does not have Zombaio already integrated. Someone has coded an adapter from Zombaio to AEC and are selling it for $40. So for $180 I can set my site to start charging. Although, what is a Chargeback Fee? Zombaio wants $32 for each one... |
