Member Pic Site with Wordpress? - GoFuckYourself.com

I have been hired to create an amatuer picture gallery type website. As I will be a partner in this business venture I have a few things I'd like to get opinions on.

1. I was considering using wordpress with nextgen gallery for this. I won't be using this as a blog site really but I might utilize some of the tag, categoy and rating features at some point. Anyone have opinions on this? Is there a better way to do this? I'm more of a designer than a coder but I do understand the basics...I just want to keep it as simple as possible and avoid large learning curves.

2. The goal is to have a members section to create income. I am not sure if there is a market for member sites since there is a butt load of free porn out there. Opinions? What are other alternatives to make income with such a site.

aMember pro, all the way. I've been using it for several months and it works quite well, although I don't use it with a CMS, but it is certainly WP comaptible. Now it's even better, too, because they support all major adult payment gateways, which is a very big deal. You can check my site in my sig to see it in action.

As for premium sites, it would depend on the content, competition/niche, and how well you can drive traffic to it. I would certainly advise against getting your hopes up and assuming you can buy the Playboy mansion by the end of the year, but if you stick with it and deliver quality content, you should be able to make a living eventually.
