    Trial Jury - USA/Canada - Jury Duty

    Many here are passionate about criminal cases and the law.
    Have you ever been part of a jury who tried the issue of the facts and returned a verdict in a trial? What was your experience like? Justice system depends on jurors like you.

      I was called in for Jury Duty 2x so far in the past 15 or so years....

      Its a pain in the ass....

      You have to call in the night before to see if you have to show up....

      First time I spent the whole day they took us from one court house to main court house to the point of being in the room with the lawyers... It was a DWI trial and at the time i was a bartender and they asked who cant serve I got up and said I serve alcohol and they lawyers tossed me...



      Second time I was called in it was like 4 years ago ..... I sat for like 2 hours ... and long story short I was sent home

          That's just IT. Everyone seems to complain or skip it, and don't show up.
          This is a free country, we have the ability to be a part of it and people stand up for what they believe in. A friend of mine was on the jury for a very complicated drug related case for SIX months. He was really consumed in it and involved and got into numerous disagreements with family and friends over his opinions.

          I have never been a part of it was just wondering what others here had to say.
