How's My SEO Optimization?

I'm still pretty new to adult blogging and the concept of SEO optimizing a blog. The basic understanding I've taken away from it is that duplicate content messes it all up.

I don't just post random single images one after the other, though, I upload galleries. And with what I'm learning about SEO, that can be problematic when it comes to naming files. It seems you can choose between one of two options: Leave the images all named 1, 2, 3, 4, or add relevant prefixes to the photos, such as model name and description. I'm assuming either way it gets counted as "duplicate content" and negatively affects everything, considering there are about 15-20 images per gallery that all have the same name with the exception of the digit at the end.

So my question is - what can I do to counteract this? I'm having a hard time properly articulating my concerns here, I think, but I'm sure you guys have run into the same problems if you upload galleries as well. I don't even know if this actually -is- a problem in the wider scope of things, as long as I have other parts of the blog optimized properly. I guess I just thought that renaming the files in a gallery that way was commonplace, since it seems every site I visit follows the same format of model name_description_00.jpg.

Right now I have All in One SEO installed on Wordpress. I have it set to noindex tags and categories. That's about all I know to do, as of right now. I'm also going back through and adding in descriptions in the posts, since before I was just posting the galleries.

I'd appreciate it if someone could take a look at my site and tell me if anything jumps out at them as being wrong / detrimental to SEO. I was averaging 40 or 50 hits a day in December, and I seemed to be getting more and more hits from Google each day, and then it just quit out of nowhere, now I'm lucky to get 30 hits a day, and that's only because I have traffic coming from tumblr.

I know it isn't much to look at, I need to add a boatload more content too, but I don't want to go any further without knowing if I'm doing anything to negatively impact the results.

I'd appreciate any advice that the veteran bloggers out there can offer. Let me know if there's anything I should and shouldn't be doing. Thanks in advance!

I'm not trying to promote any given site here but here is what I did. Googled porn tgp. I clicked to go here milfporntgp

that site has no meta description that I can see, however it ranked #3. The description that was listed in the google results was
Quote:
WELCOME TO MILF PORN TGP. You've Found The Best Source For Free Milf Porn Pictures And Movies! Updated Daily.
but I cannot find that description anywhere in the html.

all of the images link offsite, but most have different alt tags:
  1. I am teasing you in my tight and shiny outfit, i am talking seductively and you are getting all hard and horny. I am taking your dick in my warm wet mouth and start sucking nice and slow. I get on my knees and bend over so you can step over my back and st
  2. Horny older chick Raquel shows off her big tits and rubs her pussy for you.
  3. Do you want to masturbate with me ? Letīs cum together - you watch me in my office on my desk as i fuck myself with 2 vibrators. My tits are bouncing in my blouse as i shove them up my pussy and my stocking legs are starting to shake as i get myself off
  4. Sexy MILF Nina Hartley teaches her son a lesson by fucking his friend.

I did a google search "Sexy MILF Nina Hartley teaches her son a lesson by fucking his friend" and this person's image on their page was not in the first few pages of results.

Now look at this gallery:
galleries.naughtyamerica.com/gallery/us/23/2439/13715/unified_picture/mckenzie_lee2/

all of these pictures have the same alt tag but with an incrementing number
McKenzie Lee & Bruce Venture in My Friend's Hot Mom - Naughty America - Sex Position #1
McKenzie Lee & Bruce Venture in My Friend's Hot Mom - Naughty America - Sex Position #2
McKenzie Lee & Bruce Venture in My Friend's Hot Mom - Naughty America - Sex Position #3
..and so on..
the main picture is
McKenzie Lee & Bruce Venture in My Friend's Hot Mom - Naughty America - Centerfold

there is a video page aside from the gallery page that has the same text description as the picture page

If you search on McKenzie Lee & Bruce Venture in My Friend's Hot Mom - Naughty America
that gallery is # 3 (the video page is # 2)

If you search on McKenzie Lee Bruce Venture My Friends Hot Mom
that gallery is #7 (the video page is #8)

if you search on McKenzie Lee Bruce Venture the gallery page is result number 54 on page 5.

if you search on mckenzie bruce Naughty America - Sex Position #1 the gallery comes up in the results hitting on the alt tag of itty bitty thumbnails. The gallery page doesn't come up at all.

the video page has the
Code:
<link rel="canonical" href="tour.naughtyamerica.com/scenes/mckenzie_lee2/13715/" />
The gallery page does not.

It's hard to understand what all this means, but the video page has the same style of alt tags and doesn't appear to be hurt. I've seen the same incremental style on all sorts of naughtyamerica gallery pages.

If I search on McKenzie Lee milf sex position the result is #69 *snicker*
If I search on Bed Porn Video McKenzie Lee which are words in their keywords meta, the video results are on page 4, but match text descriptions on the page.
If I search on something in the description meta McKenzie naughty Mom in the Bed the gallery is result #1.

In regards to your images, if I search Christine Vinson Busty Blonde In Bed 012 you are result 2. the first result is a vgp page that has [busty] [blonde] [bed] on its page. The google search description has christine vinson in it but I cannot find it on the page.
If I search for Christine Vinson Busty Blonde In Bed, your page isn't anywhere in the top 20.

The first result has [christine vinson] text 21 times viewable on the page.
The meta title is Christine Vinson Videos (11) | 4tube
  • alt="Christine Vinson"
  • <h1>Christine Vinson</h1>
  • [christine] appears 88 times in the html source

Result number 9 has [christine vinson] 1 time viewable on the page
this page has no description or keywords.
the images have no alt tags or titles
christine vinson appears in 14 urls that are links to the full size images.

If I search for Christine Vinson Busty Blonde In Bed images The first result is a tube site, the second page is a picture gallery. All of the alt tags are "Busty blonde Christine Vinson shows her smut balloons at the pool". There are no title tags. Christine Vinson is readable on page once, but there she is contained in the 15 internal urls of course. The google description hits on the keyword pictures, and nothing else.

I notice on your page, you do not have any of the keywords in the meta description, or in the <h1> You should figure out what you want your incoming search to be, see how you rank with that query, adjust the meta for the search term, adjust the <h1> and see how it changes how you fare.

It is my findings that having a very similar alt tag doesn't seem to make a HUGE difference. It's hard to find straight ranking picture gallery posts to compare alt tags, and I cannot say if having differing alt tags gives you preference over more similar. It feels like having all of the elements, <h1>, keyword text, alt tags (unique or not), and meta description is best. Of course it never hurts to put unique content text in either I suppose.

I may have went overboard a little with this post but my findings are open to interpretation, and I invite people to discuss this.

Personally, my image alt tags have similar content, just worded differently. I like matching on keywords and keyphrases

If you guys go back four or five pages you will see that I've started adding descriptions in the text area, which I believe are showing up in the meta descriptions. I just realized I had my SEO Friendly Images plugin turned off, as well. I turned it back on, it's supposed to add alt tags and titles to all of the images. If you could go back and look at those pages that'd be great.

As for the rest of it, that's a lot of information, lol. I guess the seo plugins don't do as great a job as they claim.

What exactly does the H1 do? When I look in the file it's just the name/description of my site. How is this different or more important than the page title?

In the porn biz, SEO is not the only thing you need to think about, you need websites to link with your website (link exchanges), any website can over use a keyword 1000 times and think they will rank higher than the big boys out there! wrong... back links, website to website link exchanges, adult video dumps etc.. etc.. the more websites linking to you, the better your search engine ranking. Hope this helps a bit ;)

And how does one go about doing that? Just contacting fellow webmasters and exchanging links?

Like you, my very first adult website (in early 2011) was a TGP. It was also the last TGP that I made before I moved on to blogs and tubes, because I realized that if I was going to be successful with TGP, I would probably have to crank out at least a dozen of them, since that seems to be what the other webmasters had.

As far as how to go about getting the links, almost every TGP has some kind of Traffic Trade script and usually towards the bottom of the site you'll see a link "Trade traffic" or similar and you setup your galleries so that - for example - 70% of the time someone clicks your thumb, it goes to the preview gallery, and 30% of the time, it goes to one of the sites you are trading with. Of course, in order to trade traffic, you must have traffic, and it can't be some temporary source like paid traffic.

That's about as much as I know because I never had enough traffic to feed the trades and I took a different path and made money doing blogs/tubes instead of building a network of TGPs.

thmvp20, I suppose that you're right, you need dozen of own tgps to make some money, but what about blogs, how many your own blogs you need to have to earn some decent money?

Why would you need that many TGPs to make money? I guess when it comes right down to it I don't see the difference between a TGP and a porn blog, considering most porn blogs I see post galleries as well.
