![]() Hi, Can someone please help me out a little bit. I apologize if I am using the word provider out of term but I am referring to the affiliate network that I have signed up for (NastyDollars, Twistys, etc)
I am having a problem trying to organize my links into my database. I was headed down a good idea path until I realized some providers provide galleries for PPS or Revshare only instead of both, so i figured my idea of manipulating the links to append the right ID needs more thought, or maybe no thought at all. I wanted to create one main site that contains all my content from many providers and sites that I have added to my database through spreadsheet and/or manual inputs. The numbers are getting pretty high and a bit difficult to manage. Is this a bad idea? Some providers - like NastyDollars has no Revshare, so in their case it wouldnt matter. I can add as many galleries in without worrying. But, for example, Twistys gives multiple program-types for a particular category / site. But some sites are not active with certain program types. What about handling multiple websites and organizing them? Do you recommend creating each unique website to contain only one providers content (example, when a user clicks a category, only show the providers banners, video and pic galleries) or is it ok to have many? Do you usually scrub all the links that an affiliate offers? How do you deal with the fact that a link can be for rev-share or PPS. I really want to avoid storing the galleries in twice, and configuring the website to use either PPS galleries only or REV share galleries only, and filter that per website. Previously, I wanted to log all my Providers to a database table, then create 'accounts' to each provider, which had multiple program types. A providers website landing link would then be added with that program-type of the account. So we will have a landing page for "website-XXX" for rev-share or PPS for "Provider-XXX" What do you recommend? Am I overcomplicating this? As far as testing rev-share and PPS, what is the best way to go about that? I want to be able to make logical decisions on my own on seeing which is better to use. I would appreciate any help and advice! Thanks! |
