Adult site authorship - is it a good idea?

Hi there - I'm wondering if it might be time to connect my site to authorship, go legit by Google+ and promote the shit out of it. Can anyone see a downside? I hear ctrs are improved by this sort of thing in the 'real' world, and I don't believe Google is biased against porn sites... any thoughts welcome.

(:

Yea if u have an actual legit blog do it. It does help ctr. If youre trying to mark up a tube or something else it wont work though.

Google is also selective about the number of author profiles it shows for a particular kw

Thanks, this is worth knowing. WHat's a publisher mark though? Haven't heard of this before.

It's just a meta tag to link your G+ publisher page to your site. AFAIK you won't get an author profile or anything like that in SERPs. It just helps Google associate the page with your site

Also, I think G+ technically doesn't allow hardcore content posted. I'd just be prepared for it to eventually get banned if you do set one up (unless you post softcore only, even then it could still prob happen)

Thanks folks. I'm attempting to hook it up now but encountering some problems - I'm using the plugin from Jetpack to connect it up to G+ and this says it's connected, but the authorship test page says it's not working. Any ideas? Do you think it matters that I haven't got 'By [my name]' appearing next to the articles?
