From, lets say Traffic Shop or Ero-Advertising.

I've been putting the code around the <head></head> section (I am talking about Wordpress, but it is probably the best to put it right before the </body> tag (I've seen most websites do it).

Is that what it is?

either spot it should work exactly the same

Doesn't matter where the code is place as long as it is in between <html> tags.

IMO better off at the end of your markup, let your page load before the pop!
