I find that the geolocation of traffic has a lot to do with conversions. Mobile traffic from developing nations doesn't have the money (or means) to buy. Maybe 70%+ of internet sales came from developed nations.
Someone in an internet cafe in Hồ Chà Minh City for instance has little potential for conversion. However, the same person may be using Google.Comment

1 in 9 not even Amazon has that. That is 9 %..... So if you have 10,000 visitors/ day and your average "dohikie" price is $ 10, you convert that to 900 x 10/ day = $ 9,000/ day = that is $ 360,000/ month. The only difference I know of is in the effect on net revenue from mobile sales for reason of the transaction cost (processing) of mobile sales.
Mobil carriers' transaction rates are set by the regulators (or market forces) of that specific county.

Not really I do not even know what a "paid bulk traffic conversion" is, but I did check my GA today over the past 3 months ( in response to your quote) and my numbers were partially skewed by a recent new release.
If I "stretch" the numbers over a full month, it is closer to 0.1 % , the 1% lasts only about a day or two when a new movie is released in response to a mailing to about 5,000 steady customers.
The traffic numbers were also skewed a bit ( excluding the proverbial 2 days) it is close to 1500 .

Not sure if I again spoke in haste yet every time I tried to find how the author of the linked article ( The Law of Shitty clickthroughs) I came with his numbers regarding advertising i always come up snake-eyes, anytime i put in any adult website even a giant as xhamster, comes back with noting but zeroes....
