Unable to Associate a Property in the Search Console with Analytics

I am unable to associate a property in the search console with analytics. I am the verified account owner.

When I try to edit search console settings from the Property Settings screen in Analytics, I get the following message:

* You don't have edit permissions to this Google Analytics property. Yet I most certainly do have edit permissions.

When I try to associate the site through the Search Console, I get the following message:

* Hm. Something isn't right. We're checking into it now.
