Some Questions For Webmasters With Original Content Membership Sites
Is 768 x 1152 @ 72 dpi sufficient size for viewing/downloading pics or do you offer them the highest quality that you have?
Do you allow them to download entire pic sets (I have up to 400 images for some scenes) in .zip format? Is 320 x 240 sufficient for watching streaming flash video online or do you offer streaming at 640 x 480? How many different formats (.wmv, .mov, etc) and sizes do you offer them for downloading? |

A. If I have a professional photographer with me during a shoot, I give my members the highest possible quality I can. As a general rule, yes, what you propose will work. But if you get a chance to give your members high quality, give it to them. They will appreciate it. Some will print them and hang them on their wall. You want that. Good advertising. Just brand the pix with your logo. Do you allow them to download entire pic sets (I have up to 400 images for some scenes) in .zip format? A. Yes, I do. Is 320 x 240 sufficient for watching streaming flash video online or do you offer streaming at 640 x 480? A. I go with 640x480, encoded at 1024 kilbits per second. Adobe Premier projects need to be exported as deinterlaced. No matter your editor, deinterlace the footage some way or another, when you encode if you have to. Why? Interlaced footage blurs in the fast in-and-out footage. I encode my audio at 128 kbps. I use Windows Media Encoder and encode them as a progressive download (use a progressive download for a Linux server). How many different formats (.wmv, .mov, etc) and sizes do you offer them for downloading? A. I just give them WMV. Kesey Seven www.webelez.com __________________ |

Thanks for the answers. Couple more I'm would be helpful to more people than myself...
How many pictures do members expect per scene? Do you give them all the pictures you took at the shoot, or do you go through them and only post the better quality ones? |
