Need advise on seo

Im a fairly new webmaster in this world latly iv been getting alot of mixed advise on search engine opt.Iv noticed alot of webmaster dont trade with anything less than a pr3 or 4 or what ever. But iv read alot of diffrent places that the more sites your linked to the better for pr.And the last month i havent been linking to many sites that pr was low.Iv noticed to that im not getting hit as much by the bots and that im not been getting indexed as much under good keywords.whitch all and all my search engine traffic is down by just linking with higher pr sites.

It's not always easy to get people to link to your website.

I'm assuming it's even harder when you're into the adult stuff as it's probably a more cut-throat genre.

Here's something to try...

Create a "Google Webmaster" account and submit a "Google Sitemap" for your website.

Keep this in mind: Google wants content. And the Google toolbar tracks how long people stay at your site. In other words, when someone with Google toolbar installed visits your site, Google knows how long they stay at your site, how many pages they visit, and so forth.

Google also monitors how fast you are building links. Put those two together: Google sees you built up a lot of links very quickly and then notices people don't stay long on your site. Google deduces you are simply engaging in link trading and don't have a lot of content that people want. Google reduces the number of people it sends to your site.

Some tips:
Don't take links off your site. Google wants to be able to depend on your links.
Look for quality links, not quantity. One good link from a stable site with a lot of orginal conent is better than a couple dozen links from sites that are just using other people's material, because Google can find that material anywhere.
If you buy links, buy them for years at a time. Google knows you're buying links if you suddenly get 100 links one month and they are all gone 3 months later. Google doesn't like that.
Read about SEO. Read a lot. Everything you can find. Not all will pertain to your site, but figure out what does.
Check your stats. See what pages Google is sending people to. Figure out why those page are getting visits.

You may want to click my profile and read some of my other posts about SEO. There are hundreds of little things you can do to improve your site. Getting quality links is the most important but all the other little things add up.

Remember: Google looks for content.

Hope this helps td4353

My best advice td4353 is to read Googles rules on their submission website...

Googles PR has very little to do with getting a good listing within Google... I have had PR0 - PR1 that could be found within the first page or second page of Google... I have seen PR8 on Googles 40th page... I am not saying that PR is not important, just a minor factor in the Google world...

PR for most webmasters is hype... PR does not mean traffic, but most seem to think so... what a lot of adult webmasters do is get a new site up and link like mad with others as to get their PR really high and try to sell off that very website saying that it has a PR 5, just as an example.

I have nothing to add to what kesey had said...

Best of luck,

.

don't worry too much about PR..just try and get links from similar niche sites and make sure you submit a sitemap & have a robots.txt file
