things to come?

I really find it funny to read statements like that.

The Adult Internet Industry is in its infancy. One of the biggest industries that the world has ever known, why do people think for a second its not going to grow immensely. Its much more spread out then before, but i have a hard time beleiving for a second things have gotten worse.

I always have this vision of the Dodge Bros screaming out at the Automotive Company Convention attenders that Ford had "Shit on lock!" "Theres no room for anyone cept the few who got into the business in 1912! Its 1921 now, there is NO money left!

This industry is only young, there are people who dont own a computer today that will be making the same money as sites like the hun in 10 years.

I agree, but the questions is: What kind of site is gonne make the internet porn money? The new 'youtube' pornsites perhaps?

Thats the interesting question for me. Can you answer that for me..

Web users are very fickle. One day, a website can be one of the most frequently visited site. The next, they're in the dot com cemetary. Look at webcrawler. Even altavista was once one of the top search engines. Back in the mid 90's, who would've thought that AOL would've dropped so fast.

I can see the future of porn to be more personal. More interactive. I remember when pulling a photofrom newsgroups was the rave. Now, you can connect via web cam and have a one on one conversation with the person on your screen. Who knows what tomorrow will bring.

I think the hun stayed idle for too long. "If it aint broke, don't fix it" doesn't quite apply to the internet.

I think the interactivity of tube style sites certainly is a big thing. For me its always been about giving the user what they want. But i target my traffic weeks/months/years befor it hits my page. So i guess its an easy sell.

I think the big tube sites that are in adult right now are trying a similar mandate as far as giving the surfer what they want, except i do it by redirecting them to the cashier specializing in "small trucks" or to the "brown cars" guy. They do it by letting them testdrive the shit and then never redirect them to salesmen, its just flawed if you ask me.

But if you look at the not as often mentioned "tube" sites like yuvutu.com, you can see neat things happening. A huge community of user submitted porn, and i mean real user submitted. I couldnt speak for profits or cost per click on that traffic because it isnt my site, just one i thought of that looked "real" as far as business goes, not just a place full of ripped movies.

But i could see communities like that being very big in the surfer world, and i can see them being very easy to market too. When things become personal and we allow ourselves to be set into groups of similar beleives, thoughts, and wants it makes it real easy to become purchasers. Tupperware and Avon parties and shit like that taught us sales clowns that years ago.

Anyways i wondered, i dont think i can tell you what type of sites will make the money, but cater to the surfers wants is what will always make me mine. That dont mean give them the free 44 minute movie on the rarest shit out there, but i'll send them to the place that does, ie sponsor.

On the internet, very rarely do you see an "up tide" after a "down tide".

When sites fall, they fall hard. I think the reasoning behind this is it's hard to get your visitors to come back to your site after they lose interest.

Remember back in the day when a 'free site' was someone that put up a new series every week and you could come back week after week and get new jerk off material? Then you were 'honored' to get listed at some of the big link sites and they actually said something good about you.

Now the rules state that a free site must have at least 2 galleries in them. Now you have people building 5 million free sites wtih 2 galleries in them. Those link sites are not anywhere close to what they use to be.

Same thing with the Hun. He is using an outdated format in which webmaster pomp out 10 million galleries a month with the same shit over and over again.

Strange what you say!!!!

You could never see the same pic listed twice on the hun, let alone same set of pics or movies.

They are certainly not the latest thing, but i dont think they are finished either. To quote an old trusted saying, theirs many ways to skin a cat, and tgp's certainly have their advantages and disadvantages. Nothing is going to make them extinct, maybe less traveled, but still an active percentage of sales generation im sure.

Great example! AOL was at the top of their game after the merger/buy-out with Time Warner. Then came the expansion of broadband via the telecom companies and all of a sudden KAPOOT! AOL couldn't keep cost low enough because they were paying to use the phonelines from the same companies offering broadband LOL.

My prediction for the porn industry is a bunch of "Nascar" content. Actresses with bumper stickers on their asses and actors with hanging signs on their nuts LOL. Then the memberships will be free to compete with this whole "tuber" craze LOL. Oh wait... maybe I exposed y'all to something new! Hmmmmm.....

That's the beauty of the internet. It's so young that any website or technology can be developed and take down a monster. Who would've thought that a "simple search engine" that opened its doors in 98 would be worth $50 billion today and competing to take down Microsoft.

Even a body of water can go bad if it stays idle. This especially is the case on the internet.

The Hun never got 11 million uniques in a day. When I interviewed him in 99, he was at 3 million, and I'm pretty sure it's hovered around that ever since.

AOL dropping so fast was a cinch to predict...it was internet at a baby step back then, and now people beyond that.

JDoughs is 100% right...this business is in its infancy; the only thing for sure is we can't really predict anything...except change.

It's funny how people believe all the hype about the Pornotube type sites. They are but a fad. Those of us who have been around the block a few times know that what is great today, will be but a distant memory before to long.

There is always going to be something bigger and better on the new horizon and if you are the lucky bastard smart enough to get it on the start of it, you get to profit the most from it.

So instead of looking to copy what the big fad today is ... start thinking of what could be great tomorrow.

People love sex. That's just a known fact so making money selling sex will only continue to grow as an industry as long as we continue to come up with new and innovative ways to bring it to them.

The biggest mistake you could make is looking at what we've already done to death. Try and think of something new and fabulous so we can all copy you tomorrow!

In a word. Yes.

For some. TGP's won't die either, there will always be people that prefer them.

Tubes sites are another tool when run properly. That's all ;)
