Question about Affiliate programs..then spam me with quotes

Affiliate Noob with question:

What does it take to start a affiliate program from scratch if you only have a minimal understanding? Not necessarily for adult either..I mean you can hire some webmasters to run it for you right?

What are you going to need? How much will it cost if your setting it up on a budget and how much will it cost if you have some $ to throw around? ballpark..

Its late, my eyes are burning, and i'm dizzy and correct me if i'm wrong, but basically if you can identify a niche and you then set up a affil.prog., the idea is to get everyone in that niche,(all the companies that provide products an services, etc.) to sign up with your program, and you in turn promote them and try to get more people to promote them..thats basically how it works, right?

If anyone with experience running or setting up affiliate programs has the time, i'd like to talk to them about designing one, setting it up, and please give me QUOTES for specific things like design, set-up, promo, webmastering, etc. thanks!

not just for adult.
they will process for you, and handle the affiliate stuff for you.
you dont have to worry about programmers sneaking in codes in the script they write for you.

Before you put any money into something like that you better know more of what you are doing yourself, or you are going to get ripped off.

One of the best ways to learn, is by being an affiliate. that way you see how things work from that side and you can gain some insight how it works from the other.

DONT walk into it blindly.

Thanks for the advice guys. If I sign up as an affiliate, to say one of these adult sites, what are some of the most common ways to promote? I don't have any adult sites, but I post at adult message boards..

I've seen affiliate program software, but thats not really my thing or my partners, we really just want to find good people who know what they are doing to run it. I hear you about not walking in blind, and i'm doing research, asking questions, reading stuff, but at the end of the day, I'm still gonna need someone to set it up, design the site, etc. Who around here does that?

Check out the following link: http://webmasters.exquisiteangelz.com/ !

Since you are looking for designers among other things, there are a few of them that design mainstream sites besides designing adult sites. What kind of site do you want to put up and have affiliate program for if it's not for an adult site? Is it a membership site like those in adult or another type of membership site?
