Traffic Skimming & Paid Submit accounts

Question from a semi-newbie here --

If I pay for a submit account, should I expect -- or accept -- that a TGP skims traffic from my gallery link-listings?

Or should that be a TGP I don't pay for anymore? Especially when in 5 days of front page listings, there's been almost no join clicks and little website traffic coming in -- the same galleries on other TGPs have gotten massive traffic (traffic from some of the TGPS where I have free partner accounts outdoes this one "paid" submit site), so I don't think it's my gallery design.

I know traffic-skimming is common practice, but I had an idea that paying for the privilege of submitting to a TGP gave you a bit higher consideration in that TGP's eyes. Or am I being hopelessly naive here?

a tgp only does paid submits because their traffic sucks and can't convert sponsors.
how else are they going to make money?

Ouch! I have paid submit accounts (cheap and NOT skimmed), and I do OK with my sponsors (Met-Art kicks ass with the rebills!)

Anyhow, click the contact link below to see my paid submit options if interested.

Ouch, you're lumping quite a few high-traffic, high-quality TGPs in that category, including Shemp's & Snake's World, you know.

Iacuna, thanks for the tip. I've got your page bookmarked for the moment.

I was being sarcastic.

From my own sites I would never consider selling submit passes at $X to $xx per month because I know my own traffic to FHG nets anywhere from $XXX to $xxxx per spot.. So, I come to the conclusing that TGP with partner accounts find it more profitable to sell 1000+ partner accts at $x to $xx each rather than sending that traffic to sponsors.. (but of course I was being sarcastic... I know they're doing both.)

My comment didn't apply to everyone...

As you mentioned, skimming traffic from gallery listings to other trades or sites is common practise so you would most certainly see plenty of it from your own gallery links/thumbs.

The other option for you is to submit galleries to a totally clean TGP/MGP (so no skim). Unfortunately many have died (skimmed and no-skim sites) what with the tube concept however some quality sites still exist (you mentioned a couple yourself).

Naw not your gallery design

Paid for a few submit account myself over the years. Have my favorites and have my dislikes! Had those who weren’t paid partners account that did well and those that did not! I think the answer here is some claim a certain amount of traffic….but they do not have it! Some place you in a really bad location and some give you a chance…. Really depends on the site…

My advice choose a few good sites that you see are doing well for you and promote yourself on them and let them that stress you go! But your right on one thing a paid submit account means you should get s little bit better treatment since they are pocketing your money.

I think some people forget once they take your money they need to provide some customer service as well! I usual go with the philosophy what I pay for a submit pass...means I should be able to convert a gallery in that 1 month fee each month...my expectation are low when it comes to tpg/mpg traffic....best sales come from the archives...not the newly submitted galleries...so I look for those accounts that hold big archives... in the niche I am working with
