Server cant take the traffic-help me

I dont know what the fuck happened but the past few days my sites been getting hit mad hard with traffic, now my high end dedi cant take it

apparently, "There seems to be high load in the server due to high http usage, and this is causing the server to get automatically restarted when the load crosses a particular value."

What the fuck can I do?

Its timing out every 5 mins & restarting the server automatically

sometimes I even get too many connections sql errors

I see $$$ with all this traffic but damnit not with the server fucking up every 2 seconds

A high end server should be able to handle such a spike. What kind of traffic are we talking here & what are the server specs?

Besides the obvious of getting another server or a better one. Serve the static content with a more efficient server. Check out nginx. It's fast!!

check out cyberwurx, very stable dedicated servers at a decent price. I cant see any reason a high end server couldnt handle a spike in traffic, isn't that sort of the reason we get them?

You might need a performance audit on your code. Also, you might want to take a look at Amazon EC2 which lets you start additional servers on demand... Good luck.

Hello Bo$$,

Were you able to get everything resolved? Did you seek and was your Host able to assist you or offer any suggestions or solutions to the performance issue? Give them the opportunity to help you, if they have taken care of you so far and they should be the most familiar with the situation and in the best position to assist you on short notice.

If you do decide to make a move then I would certainly like to put Caro.Net to work for you. We are familiar with handling high traffic servers and if your situation requires it we can get you up and running on multiple platforms in short order, utilizing cluster or load-balancing technology.

Bottom line your hard work has turned the corner and congratz on that!

I was actually looking at caro servers. I heard yall were the best, I was actually referred by "IHeartBucks" - they told me to tell you they sent me

I have a question though. How well do your servers handle large sql commands per second? I get thousands per second.. my current server cant take it. Its not an issue with bandwidth, but with the sql server

Your server admin can use some tools, such as "top", to see exactly
what on your site is causing the high load. By far the most common
cause is a PHP script running poorly designed SQL queries against
a poorly designed database. Very often, looking at MySQL's slow
query log you can find a query or two that is causing a bunch of
load. That can then be fixed by rewriting that query or two and probably
adding an appropriate index to the database.

If you have a LOT of sluggish PHP code, a simple caching system
can often be added in just a few minutes and reduce load by 90%
or more.

Hello bo$$,

Sorry for the delayed response but this really isn't the best method for immediate contact as I only have limited amounts of time on the boards.

From experience I have tremendous faith in our support staff being able to help you out with MySql issue like this but until I actually have someone on the technical side of the house review this I really couldn't give you a committed answer.

Please contact me via any of my IM's, by phone, or my email and I will be able to expedite results for you.

It sounds like you need to find out whats going on with your mysql.. there are a number of things that can be happening, but you need to isolate what is actually causing this. If your code ran fine before, and the increase in traffic is killing something then the code you have should be fine, however.... when you say getting hit hard with traffic, do you know how much bandwidth your using(Not is amount, but throughput).. do you have anything monitoring your server? graphs, etc
