Site directory security/layout question
I have been planning my own site for ages now and have been looking for various options for CMSs and even looking at a custom build as an option also. Regarding security scripts and the integration with payment processors, one thing I find in common is the necessity to have everything you want to be protected under a /members folder (or similar) on your directory layout.
I was hoping to build a site which would in-fact give non-members (or members who are not logged on) the ability to browse the main site layout down to a certain level, so they can see what they are going to get, but then if they try to open an image set for instance, they will be met with the authentication page. Again, I would like them to have read-only access to a forum without being shown any images therein unless they authenticate to the site. So as a scenario: you browse the site as a visitor after taking the tour, you can see the updates and even go back to previous months - exactly the same screens as a logged on member at this point. You can see the model pages and how many sets and videos each model has, you can even open images which have been specifically allocated for free viewing when the update has been input by the webmaster. Then as soon as you try to open a video page or a thumbnails page, you are confronted with the authentication dialog to logon or join. Would it be possible to manage this sort of configuration given the regular, 'everything nested under one secured folder', layout? Sorry - please excuse my newbie ignorance! Cheers, Paul A newFemme.com |
