How do I build a site like this...

I'm looking to build a simple model listing site and I just wondered what kind of ingredients I'd need.

I'm not looking to build anything fancy, nor am I looking to accept payments as it's going to be 100% free to use.

I'm pretty apt at HTML/CSS and Worpdress but when it comes to things of this nature I'm a bit out of my depth.

So if anyone could lend a helping hand that would be great

Unless they stripped absolutely everything out of the code, that's not a wordpress site.

Oh no I know it's not Wordpress, Maybe I wasn't clear enough. I was just saying that I have a lot of experience in coding for Wordpress, in case that would help with a site of this nature.

I don't doubt that you could build something pretty similar to what you're referring to in your OP, you'd just have to look for the right plugins and whatnot. Maybe hit someone up who can design a theme that will look similar or something, or just rip it yourself and go from there.

But basically what you would need is:

1) Models to list.
2) A good wordpress theme that doesn't rape you for SEO.
3) Time to make the posts or whatever you wanted to do.

I'm actually looking into some ideas for this, and I know with the right plugins you could make something pretty damn good, here.

From my previous work in model promotion I have a good network of models that would love to join.

I'm considering using Wordpress MU and a custom portfolio theme that given some tweaks and some decent plugins could work pretty well

I would say with wordpress it's going to be challenging.

It would probably easier to use something like phpBB or vbulletin with some custom addons. Other than that you're probably better off just designing something.

You can also use a trade script to trade traffic.

Why not do a hybrid? It always works for my mainstream clients... the best of wordpress with custom php. Works wonders

Sites like that and the somewhat similar www.moxiejam.com are run on custom scripts, not wordpress. You can however look at sites like www.HotScripts.com for some software that might work for you or you can like others have suggested, just heavily modify wordpress for something remotely similar.

Hey Nineteen85 - when you get this site up and running can you make sure you don't run it like the bunch of assholes who run Purestorm?
They allow models to advertise that they do adult work but if a photographer / producer replies to them they ban him immediately - bunch of twats.
I will use your site when you get it up and running my friend. If I were you I would copy Purestorm as closely as you can - they do very well in getting new girls to sign up - they just fail in allowing any producers to actually give them any work - muppets!
