Designing my site the last few days and wondering about the odds beforehand of being sued for not have a Warning page ?

I just have a gallery site (femdom) that solely links to legitimate affiliate sites that contain free legitimate galleries. (with the option to signup so I can get commission)

I do not accept any user submitted galleries....the only stuff I allow on my site are 2257 compliant sites / galleries from affiliates.

I'm in the U.S. and have the RTA label link on my site and the special meta code in the <header> tags. Along with a "Warning this is an adult site" text near the bottom of my main page.

But I do not have a totally separate Warnings page...that just has the "Warning this is an adult site" and nothing else.. The galleries are currently on the home page as well.

It seems like soo many others are avoiding implementing the 'warning' page as well lately...since 'index.html' is the most important page for search engines..and is the first page that most people see.

It also seems very speculative if the Warning page is legally needed or not.

any insight is much appreciated

Odds? Why gamble! I warning page is used by almost all big companies that I have seen.

everybody else think the same ? I'm a little guy for the most part...

Plus, a lot of my organic search engine 'keyword traffic' ends up on secondary pages anyway...so whats the use ?

answer is simple - we use a warning page, we also use ROBOTS.TXT which tells the search engine where to go :D

If its not a legal requirement, why bother ?

When's the last time someone was sued for not having a warning page...that just had a free gallery site that pointed solely to affiliate links ?

Why would you wanna do that ? If its a free gallery site, you'd want more keyword traffic by having them find your secondary pages.

If you have international traffic it's good to have a warning page. In some countries it's compulsory to warn users for adult content.
You'd setup a geo ip based script (for some dumb nations) that redirects to a splash page before to got to the landing page.

One common problem i see on warning pages is ZERO SEO and since it's the first page the engines missed it's a HUGE missed opportunity.

the biggest sites in the world do so with impunity. who cares. 2002 is 8 years ago.
