The Czechs pretty much invented beer!!!!! Well Pilsner larger they invented for sure. Avoid the tasteless mass produced crap (Staropramen, Gambrinus, Braník) and go either for the tasty mass produced crap (Budvar, Pilsner Urquell) or better yet find a bar that serves unpasteurized "Tankové pivo". Also, a beer called Svijany has started popping up in various places about the city, if you get the chance get a few of those in you will find it to be one of the most tasty pints available.

Yeah staropramen not so good but serve the purpose.And yes Svijany is good have a taste like a cherry.

Actually, I pretty much like the "craps" too, gambrinus is quite good IMO. I agree there are some gems to be found thou, some of these small family breweries, there are cool beers made in the Czech Rep. Like I said, Czechs make the best beer in the world, the fact I am Slovak makes this statement even more valuable - you know why :)

there are also some not so bad german beers... ;)

but i am perfectly happy with Pilsener from the tap

The Castle was great. I think you best can walk from the bridges to the castle. Nice neighbourhood and great views. You also can see the change of the guards.

You could visit the Church near the castle, but there was a waiting line that would take 2 hours. So i skipped that.

I've been there back in the 90s and it was great, hope to be able to visit it again sometime soon. Beautiful city for sure.

Excellent! I am not a beer drinker by any means, but if I am fortunate enough to find tasty regional beer, I'm definitely down!:drinkup

So far my favorites have been Heineken but ONLY in Holland-(the US version is skunky), Estrella in Spain, Beliken in Belize, and Korbel's micro brew they have at their vineyard in Bodega Bay.

Another "must-see" is the Old Town Square, which is basically "the heart" of Prague... that area is also always "hopping and popping" all day and all night long...
