Looksss coldd....

Kenny B! 12-08-2010 09:06 AM

We got hit with over a foot of snow, winter is early and it's in full force!

Tom_PM 12-08-2010 09:18 AM

Damnit, it's still snowing. Was an additional 12.2 inches just yesterday. A new record for one calendar date. Again. Hooray?

Coming down hard at the moment. Sore muscles protesting the notion of more snow shovelling. Some pics linked in this story http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.s..._close_or.html

Shit I 'm so happy with my little snow compared to yours! It's 32 here and they are calling for more snow. It's kinda funny as all the other times it's snowed here it was all gone in a day or 2 but we still have some left.

michael.kickass 12-08-2010 11:10 AM

We probably fucked the planet for good already.

hehe, yeah it's really something else. I've been here maybe 15 yrs or so and seen worse, but for one continuous event, this one takes the cake. We blew through our average December totals in 5 days I think.

But folks are mostly used to it. I dont think they even sell anything but all weather tires for instance, and we do have massive road clearing crews rolling 24/7. They use huge empty parking lots and make monumental piles using those uber giant sized earth movers.

That's why I moved down here form NJ, 5 years up there and plenty of snow. I hope you stay warm! I'm sure the kids are having a blast no school right?

Tom_PM 12-08-2010 02:32 PM

Yeah, no school for 3 days now. I think they went in 2 hours late yesterday, but they were back home in seemingly no time. All it takes is a slight shift in the wind direction. It's totally feast or famine with lake-effect snow.

:Oh crap:Oh crap:Oh crap:Oh crap

Yeah same happens in California and many states not used to snow - complete and utter panic attacks, traffic accidents, etc...

This is very light dusting!

LOL!

I always pictured Kansas as southern summer kind of state with a desert here and there maybe :)
Well I pictured it at least more southern and warm than North Carolina.
So its news to me.

And yeah its funny someone would freak after this "snow" :1orglaugh

It finally stopped snowing in Syracuse! (for now) They total it up here now at 46.6 inches for this event. 4 and a half days of flaky whiteness. Pretty sick!
