BIG SIS INVADES WAL-MART: 'IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING'

WASHINGTON -- Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano today announced the expansion of the Department’s national “If You See Something, Say Something” campaign to hundreds of Walmart stores across the country—launching a new partnership between DHS and Walmart to help the American public play an active role in ensuring the safety and security of our nation.

“Homeland security starts with hometown security, and each of us plays a critical role in keeping our country and communities safe,” said Secretary Napolitano. “I applaud Walmart for joining the ‘If You See Something, Say Something’ campaign. This partnership will help millions of shoppers across the nation identify and report indicators of terrorism, crime and other threats to law enforcement authorities.”

The “If You See Something, Say Something” campaign—originally implemented by New York City’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority and funded, in part, by $13 million from DHS’ Transit Security Grant Program—is a simple and effective program to engage the public and key frontline employees to identify and report indicators of terrorism, crime and other threats to the proper transportation and law enforcement authorities.

More than 230 Walmart stores nationwide launched the “If You See Something, Say Something” campaign today, with a total of 588 Walmart stores in 27 states joining in the coming weeks. A short video message, available here, will play at select checkout locations to remind shoppers to contact local law enforcement to report suspicious activity.

Air Marshals Expand Beyond Planes
Officers Descending On Transit Systems, Bus Stations, Ferries

(AP) Federal air marshals are expanding their work beyond airplanes, launching counterterror surveillance at train stations and other mass transit facilities in a three-day test program.

As of Wednesday, the Transportation Security Administration said, teams of undercover air marshals and uniformed law enforcement officers were descending on bus stations, ferries and transit systems across the country to protect them from potential terrorists.

"We just want to develop the capability to enhance security outside of aviation," said air marshal spokesman David Adams.

Air marshals stepped outside of their usual role of flying undercover on airliners after Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans. They were sent to keep order at Louis Armstrong International Airport, where thousands of evacuees converged after the levees were breached.

The so-called "Visible Intermodal Protection and Response" teams, or VIPER teams, will patrol Amtrak's Northeast Corridor and Los Angeles rail lines; ferries in Washington state; bus stations in Houston; and mass transit systems in Atlanta, Philadelphia, Washington and Baltimore.

4th Amendment Violating Mobile X-Ray Scanners Hit The Streets

As we warned at the beginning of the year, X-ray body scanners currently being used and abused in airports across the world are set to hit the streets as American Science & Engineering reveals that “more than 500 backscatter x-ray scanners mounted in vans that can be driven past neighboring vehicles to see their contents” have been sold to government agencies.

Philly Cops Stopping & Searching Random People On The Streets

In Philadelphia, you don’t have to visit the airport to have the government molest you, TSA-style “stop, question and frisk” pat downs are already being conducted by police on the streets targeting people who act suspicious, by doing things like putting their hands in their coat pocket.

As we have repeatedly warned, everything unfolding in the airports, from naked radiation body scanners to pat downs, is now being implemented on mass transit as well as every major street corner in America. Constitutional protections of privacy and immunity from unreasonable search and seizure have been abolished, replaced with guilty until proven innocent.

US Homeland Security FAST Becoming Thought Police

The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is making quick progress on its Future Attribute Screening Technology (FAST) or Project Hostile Intent as it was called originally, which is designed to detect hostile thoughts, or thought crime as it’s known in Orwellian-speak.

The technology uses high-tech sensors that can measure breathing and pulse rate, as well as facial expressions and skin temperature in an attempt to identify people acting suspiciously. The system aims to make it easier for border control staff to choose who to single out for a probing interview.

don't worry, as long as they don't start asking your mom to report any suspicious activities in the basement, then you should be fine.

I don't give 2 shits about this because I don't go to Walmart, but it's just funny because it seems like the ultimately in lazy appeal to the public to basically do the Homeland Security job for them. I wonder how many false reports of "suspicious" perfectly normal activity will happen because of this and how much taxpayer money that will waste in the admin necessary to handle it.

Don't forget that they also want to take away your right to own a gun. So when the breaking point does finally come, the people have no means of revolt.

The inhabitants of a police state experience restrictions on their mobility, and on their freedom to express or communicate political or other views, which are subject to police monitoring or enforcement. Political control may be exerted by means of a secret police force which operates outside the boundaries normally imposed by a constitutional state."

once again, not at all.
you DID indeed state that he should read what a police state was.
then he posted a definition.
then you made a personal attack against him.

EDIT: now that i go back and read it again, i see that BEFORE you did your personal attack, he DID indeed do one of his own.

i believe that these nullify one another.

penalty revoked.

That's the point I made in another thread - even the supposedly active people who proclaim that everyone should revolt probably don't know HOW to revolt...how to truly cause change. They, like all other Americans, just know how to bitch. Big whoop. That's why nothing's going to change. I personally just don't care enough yet...if things really get bad enough here, I have no qualms moving to another country.

The oldest book in history was already teaching us this wonderful education.

Matthew 5:3
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

This is to point to all the people that think this is a good move of U.S. government.

Just like all the other so called good things u.s. does to make it bit by bit just big brother that watches you but not only that it also will go control you and that is what you don't see ;)

Take my word on it.

Well that completely misses the point now doesn't it?

I'm sure with the Obamacare waiver granted to Walmart, they will be able to give her a nice little raise. You can sleep well.

dyna mo 12-13-2010 09:04 PM

well, what is the point then? to try and get people like me to see things based on fear?

i don't live my life based on fear. never have.

so what exactly is your point with posting this at gfy?

Mr Happy 12-13-2010 09:16 PM

#1
From a psychological view point, this
information is not easy to swallow,
one can not accept this info and go on with their lives in the same way.

The brain recognizes that this info will force it
to re-arrange and re-program several pieces of information it has accumulated over the years.

And the brain will fight, because this requires a
high amount of mental effort, and the best way to avoid such effort, is to reject the info.

#2
The second reason deals with the problem of ego.
Due to a person's ego, he will fight you and your information, because he/she values their words over yours.

They can not accept that you might of stumble upon such
valuable truths, that they did not realize before, and in defense of their ego, they disclaim your truths.

#3
in many occasions the person is so comfortable living life fast, they simply don't want
to change their way of life, and couldn't careless about whats happening in the world.

They are to focused on themselves.

#4
They believe and value the voice of
the system, it has become the prime decider of their reality.

What is the voice of the system?

The Media!

Most people, believe the illusion.

Tyranny: arbitrary or unrestrained exercise of power; despotic abuse of authority.

Tyranny is fought with exposure.

Freedom is worth fighting for.

That IS "my motivation" ..there is nothing more that you need to understand about "my" motivation.
