Yes.. Everyone is doing it like crazy for one reason and one reason only... Cookie stuffing. AWE has set things up where it's highly benificial to get your own id set in the cookie etc. The only time you see this sort of craziness is when it's some malicious download or, as in this case, everyone wants to stuff that cookie... I've never seen it like this before where sites have things set up so that you click absolutely anything on the site and it's popping LiveJasmin before you can do anything else.

Let me repeat what I said. Popunders do not place affiliate cookies unless the visitor clicks the ad. (additional information: cookies that may be placed in popunders are for internal tracking and user behavior based optimization and/or pop restriction - example: set creative to pop only once per every 24 hours and so on)
There is no conspiracy, popunders still work as an effective marketing tool. If you come across sites that keep using them that means one thing - It is working and converting.
If I was given the following two options to choose from...
a. Spend time on constructing conspiracy theories on message boards
b. Give AWE's products a try, see how they convert, work with our account managers, all of whom are here to help with the optimization process, etc. THEN arrive at a conclusion.
- Things going well, AWE seems to be the right match for my traffic? Great. Increase traffic, earn more.
- Not working so well? Try additional optimization, talk to our account managers, try new marketing angles or move on.
...the choice would seem pretty obvious to me. :)
