In the spirit of Christmas, I will be nice. We call your comment an "opinion." You happen to have one that is different than most people. I would be interested in knowing what is ugly about it.

How do people have the time to do this shit?

There are businesses that have sprung up around this. Not only to put up and take down lights, but there are vendors renting golf carts to ride through the neighborhood, people selling hot chocolate, stuff like that.

Thats awesome Baddog. When I lived in OC there were a few places to see this. Im in the Valley and it's dreadful around my place.

Send me some details to where this is happening. I want to take my family and check it out.

I have been getting a lot of requests like that. I will probably write something up and include a map for people. It is by Pacific Coast Hwy and Calle Mayor if familiar with the area.

Wow, exceptional! Love the purple. Nice pics BD. Turns out cameras now days pick up lights at night with very good overall contrast.

Joxxy 12-16-2010 10:38 AM

This is soooo Torrance. The drive through Sleepy Hollow must take a long time.

Yeah I thought it was tricky. I remember years ago trying to take some pics of lights at night and it didnt work with a cheap camera.

michael.kickass 12-16-2010 11:50 AM

Im gonna have to go take some pics of some of the houses here. There are quite a few people who spend near 6 figures on decorations. All the windows have moving scenes and such.

All we have is this on 34th street...naturally it's called Miracle on 34th Street

They've been doing it for at least 62 years.

People just add hubcaps to it? That would have lasted 5 minutes when I was a kid. Looks like some decent coin in that pile.

Not many lights or decorations around me in London. Crazy displays by the big chain stores and main shopping areas but thats about it.
London still beats Spain for that jolly Christmas feeling (fake holiday or not, its nice to have something cute to look at while you are freezing your butt off)

suesheboy 12-05-2012 08:03 AM

Christmas is a holiday invented by Muslims to torture the Jews.

Adapt or die while your money in is motion as I like Poo.
