now that i have a child i really am scared for the direction the world is turning, there seems to be no one at the helm, we exist to serve corporations wills

if i was a religious person, this would be the time to start praying.
i hope you all have a wonderful few days off, and take time to think about both american/canadian soldiers stuck in a place they don't want to be, doing a job they don't want to be doing for a populace which will surely condemn them for doing it.

another point...the only reason the guys on dirt bikes are getting away with their bullshit is the way the troops hands are tied, these guys on dirt bikes go home to their families and hide in plain sight most of the time...its war, the only way to win it is to eliminate the other side, but we are unable to commit to such an act, so instead we trade body counts, and then insult the poor kids unfortunate enough to be sent over there to fight our battles for us.

hug your kids and hope they never get forced to go off to a foreign land and fight for the oil companies

It's clearly the downside of the internet.

Anonymous individuals can gain an audience by being insulting and inflammatory. There have been a few notable cases where shock jocks that were not hidden behind a computer inflamed a segment of the public.. It didn't go well for them.

I can't relate to the mentality at where the fun is to come online to simply be a mouthy ass to others. When I was a young man, I did demonstrate on the streets of Madison. Got tear-gassed several times on State Street.

This era of cyber-demonstration is weak and doesn't show any convictions. If the OP truly is concerned I will pay for his plane ticket to and from Ft.Bragg N.C. and he can show this video outside of the maingate.

Anyhow, I find it comical that you are mocking the Canadian Education System over the American System.

America is outperformed in pretty much everything other than blowing shit up and swallowing third world economies, and it's average citizen doesn't amount to much more than dancing monkey that perform tricks for breadcrumbs. Once it was a country looked upon globally as something great, a nation who stood up against oppression and brought freedom and liberty to it's people. It's essentially become everything it once stood against, and the rest of the world can see that now. Americans really really REALLY don't like being told that either. They'd much rather close their eyes and ignore the simple fact that nobody likes them because they are the global douchebag. Then when it comes down to it, their only defense to the accusations is to fall back on Big Brother's firepower, which will gleefully be turned upon them too if need be. They could easily lead the world in education, health care, social services, and scientific progress, yet all they do is build more weapons to blow more shit up for their corporate overlords... :2 cents:

100,000's of thousands? I'm talking millions dude! A couple hundred thousands is nowhere near enough. I want severed limbs hanging from white picket fences all across America. Then when some little Chinamen says "Well we had to do it, our economy was dipping, and we needed more bigscreens" I want to point and laugh. In Chinese of course... :thumbsup

That's usually how it works. So ya, pretty much everybody outside the states thinks you're a bunch of douchebags. You're really good at making your elite rich though, props. It really can't surprise anyone that America ranks so low in education when it should be right up at the top though, you've got to be stupid as fuck to get raped by your government as hard as the lot of you do and still think you're living in the greatest country on earth. Hell, uou can't even manage to take care of the war vets and 9/11 heroes you're all giving the big hoorah too. Your country really loves you guys... :1orglaugh

As for the comment about just take a Dishonorable discharge?? Thats the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

For that video.

You guys get your panties in such a bunch watching it and never stop to ask some simple questions.

if you asked them you would understand the reason behind what happened.

Here are a few to ask while watching that video.

1. What in the HELL were those photographers/vid guys doing in that area without first telling someone, like the military they would be there.

2. Why were they dressed in the same clothes as the " Insurgents "

3. if they were not involved why were they with guys that appear to have weapons and one sure as shit looks like an RPG.

4. What the FUCK was the guy doing peeking around the corner of a building at a Battle helicopter?

Does any of that seem odd to anyone???

When you are in a combat zone you have one rule in your head. YOU WILL GO HOME ALIVE ! Thats the goal at the end of the day.

1. Living their lives. Can't they live their lives without letting someone know or is anyone in the streets of Iraq a target?

2. You mean your every day Iraqi clothes? Because that's what everyone wears there.

3. Just in case the actual insurgents came and wanted to kill them, they would need protection. US soldiers carry guns and they aren't insurgents, are they?

4. You mean after he just saw it rain down gunfire and murder all his friends? I would be curious too as to what just killed my friends/children.

Now let me ask you a question, just one (and a half):

1. What gives Americans the right to murder visible Iraqi children? Is that not the same right that Al Qaeda has to murder American children?

Right, cyber demonstration, where I can show a billion people a video in one day (theoretically) is soo weak, it's so much better to go somewhere and show it to 100 guys with guns.

The point is that US soldiers, when side by side, would rather kill someone that doesn't see things their way than do the right thing. That's what it has come down to - we are the US, we kill anyone who disagrees with how we want to do things. The sad part is that any one of those soldiers, alone, would be brought to tears by a video like this and seriously consider leaving the army.

But the guy goes back, sees his friends, and he's TOO AFRAID to tell them what he REALLY THINKS of what he's doing.

So he keeps on killing, just like an obedient little bitch, knowing perfectly well what he's doing is wrong, knowing that he is murdering and not defending, but keeping on doing it because he is too scared of his buddies to stop.

Same thing when black people were hung; everyone was cheering and wooing even though I'm sure lots of people - when they got home - were sad about what they saw. But sure enough next time a black man was about to hang from a rope they would run out and cheer with their buddies, big smiles on their faces. Why did they do things they knew were wrong? Because they were too cowardly to speak their minds.

Online activism is the best thing there is right now, whether you like it or not, activists like Wikileaks have almost brought your government to its knees. So saying something like online activism is weak is just silly, wrong, and the words of an uneducated American. So typical. :1orglaugh

Is very easy to criticize american soldiers/marines, especially behind a computer in the safety of your home in Canada. You have no FUCKING IDEA of what it feels to be there, and I can assure you 100% of the military goes there with the best intentions to help and make it safe for the people, but they treat you like you are sub-human, their hate is deep, and you have only your brothers who are the incredible people in your squad, and them when they start to cowardly killing innocent civilian and child's so you check it out because their intention is to lure you so they can detonate IED's and kill you, and you loose your brothers to an unseen enemy who hides behind women and children, and the feelings of emptiness and sadness and an ever growing frustration, things change why should we risk everything so we get the approval of a fucking piece of shit like you and all those happy fuck liberal and tree hugers who dont understand the situation. I say its sad situation but why dont you criticize the fucking terrorist for their rules of engagement.
I bet you my life that when they are shooting at you and trying to kill you, you will act just as likely or worse is such situations, ITS your Life on the line.
But you would now anything about that because ur a behind a screen thinking your are mr hot shit of morality.

Wanna do something why dont you Volunteer in IRAQ and afghanistan... and help the situation or else dont bitch about it

BlackCrayon 12-22-2010 01:48 PM

don't blame the people there. they mostly just signed up because there are no jobs and need money to feed their families. i'm sure most would rather not be there. its the fucking puppet masters who are to blame.

the problem is, why are we there and what are we accomplishing, if anything? War is hell, no doubt but i think many of us would react the same way if some foreign country invaded our own, killing our own. i know i would do whatever it takes to defend my own shit. its pretty much what these people are doing. i'm not saying it justifies anything but try to look at other perspectives than your own. it just seems so pointless and we're only there for selfish corporate reasons under the gise of freedom. i feel for anyone stuck over there having to wonder if they are going to get blown up by a roadside bomb today. they need to come home to their families instead of becoming a pointless casualty.

I am a Canadian and most of us here agree with you. We know 99% of the soldiers there are doing a good job and more then likely don't really want to be there. It's a horrible no win situation over there unfortunately. Anyhow have a great christmas.

The operative word is *theoretical* And the statement wikileaks has the US on their knees is laughable. Wikileaks is already last weeks news. Online activism is a joke. There are so many of you doing it no one pays attention. Do you really think you are changing the world?

What you are really saying with all your words is you are a scared kid who feels safe spouting off anonymously behind a keyboard, but when it comes time to show real conviction and take the tickets to Fort Bragg you will have excuses.

Uneducated? Guess again.

Typing away from Mom's house

very good point, but unfortunately no military in the world would be effective if its infantry was a bunch of 40 to 60 years old.
but The decision will always be same, I will try to come back home alive, and keep my friends alive. thats the only thing that matters for a grunt

Typing away from Mom's house? really ? seriously...
ok then well how about better at my moms house than getting the nurse at the geriatric home to type it.:1orglaugh

I will, did the French resistance, in world war 2 strapped themselves with bombs and killed innocent people?

There is no win or loose situation, take a look at Vietnam more 50k american casualties and millions of Vietnamese casualties, ?

there are political, and more honorable ways to fight is my point.
and the soldiers or marines are incredible young men doing the best they can
in this fuck up war.

and it bothers me a lot as a veteran when people attack them, when they have no absolute power over the conflict, obviously there have been mistakes and dozens or even hundreds of excess of force, but is war, and its ugly.

and If you were in their shoes or their families, you wouldn't treat them like that.:pimp

i am in their shoes and i'm not treating anyone in any way other than asking for some explanation on why you're defending actions that has resulted in a child with 40 mm cannon wounds in her body while your brother appeared to be begging for permission to shoot.

it might be hard to believe that some of us understand that things aren't always peachy during a time of war, but some of us seem to be able to tell the difference between french resistance fighters strapping bombs to themselves to defend their homeland, compared to american helicopters machine gunning iraqi children, to give those children their freedom? i.. yea.

furthermore, i'm not a 'civilian douche', i am one of the members of a nation that is your ally who is extremely concerned regarding the actions that are being taken in the name of freedom and liberty, and who you are sworn to protect.

Innocent people? When you are in Afghanistan to kill people, you are no longer an innocent person. When you go to Iraq and fire down missiles murdering little kids you aren't an innocent person.

If an Afghani goes and kills innocent Afghanis, it happens to be none of your fucking business. Just like if an American kills another American, it doesn't give another country the right to invade. Does it?

When you have a suicide bomber doing things like what the guy that killed 6 CIA did, you are looking at true bravery. Not the bravery where you are 10,000 feet up in the sky, untouchable, raining down bullets on little kids. See what I'm getting at here? You guys think you're tough but without all your fancy equipment that keeps you safe the US would have lost this war the day it started. Because when it comes down to it, the Afghani or Iraqi soldier/insurgent knows what he's fighting for, but the American has no idea and is just doing what he's told like a little bitch.

True courage is fighting for a cause, knowing that every life you take is a life taken for a reason. Not just 'oh well' we killed a little kid because he was on the street and we can't be bothered to get out of this helicopter and take a look because we are too pussy to put ourselves in danger.

Civilian douche? So if you're not out there fighting to protect the civilians then what are you out there fighting for?

A perfect example showing that the people in the military have no idea what they're fighting for.

Thank you for proving my point.

What you are really saying with all your words is you are a scared kid who feels safe spouting off anonymously behind a keyboard, but when it comes time to show real conviction and take the tickets to Fort Bragg you will have excuses.

Uneducated? Guess again.

Yes you are uneducated, because only an uneducated person fails to see that online activism is one of the strongest forms of activism there is. So much so that China, the United States and other countries have attempted to block websites in order to halt the spread of certain information. No one pays attention? What about all the people on Twitter during Iran's elections? There are news stories all the time about how online activists are doing one thing or another.

And you act as if calling people who murder little kids cowards and pussies is anything new. News flash - it's not. I've said it before - the US has with a few tweaks would have such a good system going for it, namely health care and ending the idea of imposing your will on other countries and people, if you guys did those things you would be a heavenly place on Earth. Instead you are hated around the world, yes almost every people hates the US, and instead of stopping and asking why you just kill the people that hate you. What a shame.
