Actually, I can. But again, if you are drinking lousy beer, ice cold is the way to go. :2 cents::2 cents:

MaDalton 01-16-2011 04:14 PM

bottle - unless it's a draft beer

Vendzilla 01-16-2011 04:25 PM

Aren't bottles made from glass?

So drinking from a bottle or pouring into another glass object, right, anyways, I prefer draft in a big glass

beerptrol 01-16-2011 04:37 PM

Depends on the beer, I like my guinness stout in a glass, I like my american draft in a cold mug. As for bottled beer I usually drink it fast, so no glass needed

Some people make me laugh. Especially the ones that go on about draught-bottle. Gives me something to chuckle about.

Same with Wine.

I pour into a glass and leave the yeast behind. Then I rinse out the bottle and get it ready for the next bottling day since I make my own. Bottle conditioning is an art unto itself practically. Check out some home brew forums with these questions.

Short answer: different glasses add to the drinking experience.

Different size glasses are key to the experience

Nothing like a beer in a chilled glass/mug

Luscious Media 01-18-2011 06:20 PM

The neck of a beer bottle is covered in dirt and germs. If I can't get a clean glass I make damn sure I wipe the neck down as much as possible before drinking. Yeah, I'm a bit of a germaphobe.

Fiddy beers...

Because when you pour it, you can enjoy the head and the full bouquet of the beer, which is not possible from a bottle.

Because I LOVE foam

GARY LEE 01-19-2011 12:56 AM

Love my beer in a frosted mug, besides some of the guys around here the only head they get is from their beer so they have to. LOL

Why do people drink bud light from a can? ewww barf

thickcash_amo 01-19-2011 07:31 AM

Your supposed to pour your beer into a glass to "release" the carbonation. Its not meant to just stay in the bottle. releasing it creates better aroma and flavor, and it helps not fill you up while drinking it.

You could have stopped than sentence after the word 'light'.

magicmike 01-19-2011 07:42 AM

For the aroma and taste to be more accurate, the same reason people pour their wine into glasses.

Its classier too.

different containers for different situations...

When your at oktoberfest you drink draft beer out of a glass (so i've read)

When at a busy bar where there isn't room to sit around anywhere a bottle does great.

When at a concert there is no glass aloud so you happily drink it from a plastic cup, often in more quantities than usual in my experience.

When outdoors, in the bush, camping, anywhere you have to carry shit somewhere cans will do perfectly!

Don't they teach this to you in high school? or is that just a canadian thing? :)

it sounds like you do it for convenience. Personally. if I am going to drink beer it is going to be good beer, which can only be truly enjoyed if you can smell it. But that has been stated repeatedly.

yeah i guess you can say that.. i've never really bought in to the idea that drinking beer was a savouring experience... more as its just something you drink from time to time with friends.

I can see that. Try some good beer and that will change.

goodgirl used to not like beer because all she had tried was the crap teenagers in Indiana drink. Brew 102, Bud and other such nonsense. After a visit to a few micro-breweries she learned to actually savor a good beer.

Besides, some of them brew their own root beer too, and that is always a score. :thumbsup

HBKKH 01-19-2011 09:19 AM
