few hundred...im not really into gambling.

however i have won a fair amount of times.
last time i was in vegas..played craps for my first time. won about 700 that night, next night i went back and won about 300.
i won 1500 here in toronto, i dont care to gamble, but overall i think im basically even at the casinos.

playing poker my winnings are much better :)

im addicted to gfy

woj 01-17-2011 10:56 AM

a hundred or 2 tops, not in a casino, but sports betting... betting on a superbowl or something similar...

WebairGerard 01-17-2011 11:06 AM

I usually break even once all is said and done.

TheDoc 01-17-2011 11:07 AM

I've only lost hard once... was roughly $10k in a night on blackjack. In a single hand, I've lost around $2500ish and probably around that in a progressive build up on craps - but I wasn't down after that crap out :)

I'm up overall with gambling, if you don't count slot machines and sport bets.

Biggest single bet win I've ever seen was $11k. A guy had covered #8 on roulette. It was his last bit of money, roughly $300 bucks - he had spent everything else, that night. It was crazy, the guy was shaking so bad he could hardly have a smoke....

Hate gambling since I keep thinking of better ways to spend the money - why not put that 2k to making blogs - better odds.

Or hearing of program owners who don't have enough money to keep an employee who may cost 1500 to 3k a month - then turn around and loose 10k on gambling? Seriously? Business before pleasure

The Heron 01-17-2011 11:21 AM

I hate gambling too but lost probably 2k last time in vegas, I'd rather blow my money on booze and parties. Hell I spend more on a bar tab than I'm willing to gamble with ha.

magicmike 01-17-2011 11:31 AM

I used to be into gambling, but I don't think I ever lost more than a couple thousand in one night.

cybermike 01-17-2011 11:35 AM

Now I want to gamble some more!

That's the way i've always thought of it.

He has been the subject of numerous federal investigations due to his high winning percentage. Walters first became he subject of scrutiny in the 1980's as part of the infamous gambling league, the Computer Group. The group fed data into computers to help make predictions of sports outcomes.

The group was turned over to the federal authorities by Vegas bookmakers after making millions. Walters was indicted four times for winning more than luck would allow but the investigations proved he was operating within the law.

Walters says he began betting at pool halls when he was in his early teens. Around the age of 15, he began winning thousands of dollars playing pool.

The 64-year-old Vegas gambler has become so influential in betting that he is able to change the lines on a game based on his own bets."

Sounds like Frank "Lefty" Rosenthal

u know there is irony to that, Adam Small found a 100 chip at the Venetian :upsidedow

$600 one night at the poker table playing 1-2nl. I know when its not my night.

Scott McD 01-17-2011 02:59 PM

Anyone have any "lucky" hotels in Vegas ??

My luck always seemed to be the same for certain places. MGM Grand has never been kind to me. Paris seems to like me better!

cybermike 01-17-2011 03:19 PM

I gamble way to fucking much, however, I gamble what I can afford. My philosophy with gambling mirrors my philosophy to opening a bar, "Don't ever put in enough money where you'll miss it if you lose all of it."

I'd say last year in total, I've lost about $20K. I attribute the $6K loss in vegas to alcohol and little sleep. You just don't think straight lol.

My problem, is I'm competitive as hell. I don't play so I can "double my money so I can pay the mortgage." I'm a high limit hold 'em poker player, and you can beat that game if you know what the hell you are doing (and the rake isn't obscene). I just always think, "practice makes perfect...I can beat the other players." Unfortunately, practice is VERY expensive.

Spoken liken a gambling addict I suppose lol....

Loaning money to a compulsive gambler is just a bad idea (even family). I've given my mom thousands of dollars to help pay her debts, even though she makes $80K a year, is single, and has a cheap mortgage, and she still can't get out of debt (Cuz all her money goes to casinos). Drives me fucking crazy, and I'm done bailing her out.

That wouldn't be on Saturday night, between the hours of 11:30 PM and 1:15 AM would it?

I could not lose at the Venetian last week.

theking 01-18-2011 11:57 AM

I do not gamble anymore because I just don't get out and about much anymore...but I used to play no limit poker (lowball and draw) virtually every night and lost a few thousand sometimes and won a few thousand sometimes. It becomes to be a very boring game if one plays it properly and patience is the most important part of the game...that is after paying your dues to learn the game.
