When I was a kid there were 3 kinds of pot, Columbian, Thai Sticks and Homegrown. Homegrown was the stuff you might smoke only if you were really desperate.

Most of what I have seen at the local dispensaries I would classify as homegrown. I have tried a few things on those menus and not one of these modern strains compares to the pleasant high we used to get from weed long ago.

What do people recommend? And does anyone actually get high from this stuff nowadays?

Have you tried the foods?

i have diabetic neuropathy, which is treated with marijuana. i went to the weed doctor with my medical papers and got a script to treat the neuropathy.

Fuck the dispensaries, especially here in Colorado. You are better off finding a caregiver that charges $40 an eighth for the same shit dispensaries will charge you $60 an eighth for, they are a bunch of greedy bastards with no knowledge of their product.

i guess that makes it ok then. really the situation is, how are people supposed to take it seriously and make it legal for medical uses in all states when so many people are using any reason to get it?

when you say a little of this, how much is a little? 1/8's? i try and take advantage of the quantity discounts as much as possible.

Why should it matter? Marijuana is not lethal, does not cause you to act like a drunken ass and beat your wife and kids and is not physically addictive. The most harmful thing about it is getting caught with it. Prescription medication kills over 100,000 Americans a year and alcohol kills over 75,000 a year yet having to much of a non-lethal plant will get you locked in a cage for years. Makes perfect sense.

1/8ths. I find if I smoke the same stuff too long its affect lessens, so screw the cost factor. Besides, I prefer it be somewhat fresh.

i smoke weed all the time but i would never try and get it for medical reasons because i don't need it or use it for medical reasons. i am not saying weed is bad, i'm just saying getting a script for recreational use fucks it up for the people who really need it for medical use.

Blue Dream is relatively new [at least to me] around here. I found it to be a very pleasant high as well as tasty.

i'm guessing the majority of people getting these do not go to their family phsyician to do so...

I suspect you are correct. However, they are cracking down and some dispensaries are refusing recommendations from docs that are just selling the cards.

Reminds me, I was driving through a crappy part of LA last week and saw an office that advertised they sold cards. I suspect operations like that are the types that are being denied.

I wish they would do more sampling. I prefer the East Coast skunk which is not that popular here. Still searching for and testing different strains.
