:Oh crap

Give it a few months. By summer it should be nice and co$tly. :winkwink:

Looks like I'll be breaking out the mountain bike a little more than usual this year.

Roald 02-26-2011 12:32 PM

So how many miles do you guys do on a gallon?

georgeyw 02-26-2011 01:22 PM

We pay ~$1.50 per litre here for premium (98RON) which is ~$5.60 a gallon (AUD). With current AUD - USD conversions, that would be about $500 USD.

closer 02-26-2011 05:39 PM

Netherlands: $8.77 for 1 gallon reg fuel, $9.10 for 98RON and $7.24 for 1 gallon of diesel

so stop complaining!

what he said - $7.79 /gallon here in france (€1.50/l for 95RON)

k0nr4d 02-27-2011 01:57 AM

almost $7,50 here in Poland (and even more expensive in germany), and i still drive an SUV.
We would LOVE to be paying $4-5, even $6/gal

k0nr4d 02-27-2011 02:13 AM

You can't even get LPG here for that price. Running my bbq costs more then running a car in USA...

Emil 02-27-2011 03:31 AM

Stop crying, In Sweden it's like $7.4 for a gallon.

But I think it's good, people use their cars too much anyway.
Use your fucking legs or get a bike.

I do use my fucking legs thank you very much! It's kinda hard to walk from the grocery store with a bunch of bags.

Start complaining, else you will be screwed like us! Dutch are not willing to protest and get robed easily.

And the government makes the prices high, that way they try to force you in public transportation, like sardines.

We need our cars just as much as you guys to get around. Don't let anyone else fool you into thinking otherwise...

I live in Toronto but I've been to glasgow many times. The public transport in glasgow is above and beyond better than it is here. Toronto is massive in size compared to glasgow and the bus/subway system sucks balls. I refuse to take it. When I was in barcelona I could not believe how good the subways were. I would never own a car if I lived in barcelona.

seeandsee 02-27-2011 11:44 AM

they fucking Libia and we get gas problems :(

So you think I should buy a shopping cart and walk the 13 miles to the store and 13 miles back? It does sound delightful but that's not going to happen.

No doubt. Last time gas prices soared, there was a noticeable difference in vehicles on the freeway....actually it was kind of strange.

That is what I said if you scroll up and read.

The plan is to get shit heads off the rod and open them up for those who have money and work for a living.

Has it ever occurred to you that the problem isn't USA drivers paying too little for gasoline but EU drivers being forced to pay too much?

When this subject comes up I, for one, can't help it. It's kinda like what happens when the doctor taps your knee with one of those little rubber hammers.

Trust me I used to think the same, but he is right... Public transport in Scotland and the UK as a whole is FAR superior to North America.

Where we live now, you have to take 2 buses to get from our house to the city centre... its a 10 min drive but turns into an hours travelling. At least from our place in Scotland there is several buses that hit Glasgow City Centre, not to mention trains.

I've been walking for over a year now. The grocery is a half mile away and I walk with my own cart and re-usable bags. I would not do 26 miles though!

That's how the bus system here is, takes a hour to get 15 mins down the road.

:Oh crap

Tasty1 02-27-2011 07:24 PM

Just do like me before the crisis, buy commodities.
Make profit of the rising oil prices.

chaze 02-27-2011 07:29 PM

I wouldn't mind of the money went to something good, but gas companies re crooked greedy gangs.
