No offense to anyone but there was so much more to Quiet than stats signups.

Just ignore this comment, but it needed to be said...

[Labret] 03-14-2011 06:22 AM

Bye Quiet. :(

PR_Glen 03-14-2011 06:31 AM

There's not many that couldn't be inspired by Quiet... Made his money young, wasn't afraid to travel anywhere in the world, climbed mountains, snowboarded and biked down them, lived in paradise, drove some fine vehicles and could never be caught bragging about any of that. He treated people equally and thumbed his nose at no one.

I know all this, yet I know almost nothing about him. One could only imagine all the good things about Quiet that most of us didn't even get a chance to know.

We will all here miss you, and only hope to know more like you man...

crockett 03-14-2011 06:51 AM

RIP Quiet

Fletch, I know you were close to him so this is harder on you. I cannot think of anyone else that was as respected at Quiet was. Not an easy thing on this board. I think that is a tribute to the type of guy he was.

V_RocKs 03-14-2011 08:07 AM

Wow... Industry icon... Many programs owners wish they could have a tenth of Quiet's affiliate successes.

Sharky 03-14-2011 08:19 AM

RIP Quiet.

RuthB 03-14-2011 08:24 AM

RIP Quiet :(

Poppy 03-14-2011 08:39 AM

Wow, sad news. I always enjoyed his snowboarding and mountain biking photos/stories. RIP Quiet.

So very true but I don't think anybody meant anything bad about it. Dave was an inspiration to many. Most people would have noticed him for his stats but if they started talking to him then the inspiration would have come from deeper places.

It is weird what memories you get through your head at times like these. I will always remember when I first started to diet and drop my weight. He was so supportive in the background. I remember posting a year into it that I had gone to Norway and climbed up to a glacier. Something, I would never have been able to do before I lost weight. The way he responded to that was so sincere that it really encouraged me..in a weird way more than it did when I got other kudos.

Then, the travel..I loved trading notes with him on our world adventures.

Honez 03-14-2011 09:14 AM

He was on JBM asking about liver and kidney transplants a month or so ago. So it looks like that is the case :(

czarina 03-14-2011 09:52 AM

that is very sad news. How old was he?

Elli 03-14-2011 10:39 AM

What a terrible loss to his loved ones. He was always one of the people in the industry who inspired me and who I respected most. "Quiet" will be missed.

davidd 03-14-2011 12:37 PM

Wow :(

Dave was a great guy.

I could go on for pages, but for those that knew him... already know what I would type.

The brightest stars burn out too quickly.

RIP

Guys like Quiet typified the very best of the golden days of online adult. He did it well, he did it in style, and he did it without the depravity we all see in the industry today. His posts in the day were electric and defined the mood of the times. When I look at these old pics I still get a buzz.

When IBill went under he helped me out a lot as I was in the very same situation and like him I managed to get the majority of my funds. Fantastic stuff.

Word.

Quiet was good people. He definitely struck me as someone who loved life, and lived it to the fullest in many ways.

He will be missed.

X37375787 03-14-2011 05:09 PM

man, that strikes me hard, very hard. Theo just told me the terrible, terrible news.

Dave and I just reconnected about a year ago on Facebook, we used to email a lot about a decade ago when he still ran Ultrawired.

Fuck man, that makes me so sad.
:(

Well brother, take care. You will be missed.

One last time. :glugglug

Quiet inspired me many times over the years too. I always used to look forward to his next screenshot lol. He was always very friendly and I just can't believe he died so young. Life is not fair, that's for sure.

RIP Quiet.

Spunky 03-14-2011 08:51 PM

Does anyone have a pic of him?

SallyRand 03-14-2011 08:56 PM

Did not know Quiet but would have liked to. Must have been a Helluvaguy!

Feel compelled to post this:

John Donne

Meditation XVII (Partial)

"No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were: any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee."

Thank you for reading and my condolences to his family and friends.

He posted on another forum about looking into organ transplant surgery in other countries besides Canada etc. Pure speculation on my part of course.
