Kiopa_Matt 03-13-2011 08:32 PM

Landscaper making the big bucks. $8/hour! End of the season I was a foreman, making a whopping $8.75/hour.

Then got laid off for the winter season, and decided I can either get some warehouse job, or go at it on my own online. Went at it on my own, and 4 - 5 months later was making $35K/month. Hell of a deal! Now only if I could get back to making $35k/month.

marcop 03-13-2011 08:45 PM

I was a computer consultant--Cobol, Assembler, DB2, CICS, IMS DB/DC, and a multitude of IBM PC applications, etc. as a programmer and system analyst... worked in London, NYC, SF, and LA, for banks, insurance companies, entertainment industry clients, etc.

Tom_PM 03-13-2011 08:45 PM

Things such as dish washing, pizza making, circuit board manufacturing, photo lab working, retail sales and management.

I miss interacting with people sometimes in sales, but I don't miss having to schedule light to save money then being swamped all the time and being all crazy from it.

These constructions look very nice. I've worked as an accounting clerk, security guard, door-to-door salesperson and some other jobs.

trevesty 03-13-2011 11:52 PM

I've co-owned a t-shirt company, done club promo, been a bouncer, worked for a local firm as their SEO guy(all our clients were churches and I am atheist.. so I left :thumbsup), done marketing for a few bands I'm sure some of you have heard of, done consultation for a lot of bands, repaired water towers.. few other things.

Always had 3-4 web sites running of my own during all of this, though.

army - 2 years
university - 3 years and dropped out
crapload of odd jobs
second university (got a degree this time)
worked as a waiter while studying
managed a coffee shop
drove a taxi at some point
worked as a kitchen manager for a few months (totally sucked at this one)
was a chef (like seriously junior one) for a year or so
and then adult and now mostly mainstream

captain.g 03-14-2011 12:14 AM

I did a little of everything. But right before I worked at a print shop. Did fabrication/ maintenance and filled in at just about every position.

AdultKing 03-14-2011 12:16 AM

Before adult biz online, I ran a hardcopy porn magazine published in Melbourne and sold in sex shops all over Australia. I also owned a Brothel which I still have a share in. In the late 80's and early 90's when premium telephone services began in Australia I owned a business running these services. We started off with weather and time lines but quickly moved to dating and implied sex lines.

I worked a few various odd and end jobs right before I quit to start in this Industry. I was selling time shares mostly and working at compusa building its network, part time at a computer shop and helped my neighbors work on houses when they needed help.

Before that it was the Marines, before that it was little bit of College and 50 other odd and end jobs from working at bars, delivery, cooking, worked the boat docks, cleaning boats, helped a fishing guide, help make/install cabinets, and tons of other stuff.

onedree 03-14-2011 06:43 AM

Hey all! ... I was a Army wife while my husband was 5th Special Forces stationed at Ft. Campbell.
I feel compelled to say thank you to all our service men and women for their dedicated service. :)

Well, at any rate, I need to get to the gymnasium.
