irwin99, ur a tard!
Love the work Tam! OMG, I want one done of me, that I can frame. Wicked skills, she's got. |
That's one thing that I always wish I could do and that's draw. I'm shitty even at stickmen. Congrats to you for having a daughter with so much talent. If she markets herself as well as she draws she'll be rich.

AMAZING work for your daughter to have put together. Great use of composition, lighting and expressions to convey tone. She could have a real future in the art world if she stays motivated!
To those that say this is too dark for a 13 year old...Look back at your childhood: Were you still playing with Barbies or whatever you played with when you were 6? 13 is a year before, or the year of freshman year in high school depending on your birthday. Generally kids tend to mature around this time. |
Nice work!
If she continues at it and decides to peruse career in arts field, http://cooper.edu/ is one of the best schools around for arts as well architecture and engineering. Very tough to get in. All admitted receive full-tuition scholarship. |

The best thing about that is she is learning business skills as well here... she started out buying the templates with her points and she'd edit them, sell them and when she gets paid, she knows she had to pay x-amount for the template, she marks it up with her touches on it and then makes x-amount for herself. In doing this, she has kept her membership up for more than a year. If she needs x-amount of points to buy what she needs for her "property" then she knows she has to work for it. She is learning a lot of skills she is going to need..... :thumbsup holograph, I've bookmarked this link, thanks a lot for that. ;) |

It is awesome when your kids actually do something productive with the things we throw money at.

Having actually had a 13-year-old daughter (mine is now 16), I can tell you that this is very much the normal type of expression for that age group. The hormones start up and they go a little dark on you. It's just part of growing up and experiencing overwhelming emotions for the first time.
And Tam, I don't know anything about art but I know I couldn't do any of that! :) |

My brother was drawing at this level when he was about 9 or 10 years old. He would sit and draw for hours every day, for years! Then one day he just stopped and wouldn't do it anymore. He is exceptionally talented but these days at 24 years old he only draws something he thinks is challenging to him.
Pisses me off, because he could have done something with his Art but instead got into Music and started his band which went nowhere. Try everything you can to keep your Daughters interest alive, she has a talent. I just wish we could have kept my brother drawing. |
I'd enjoy that,2x's!
Btw, does she do blog headers? |
very nice images. she's on the right path!

My son in law has just informed me he's bringing some of his software over for her to play with, some very expensive that she's been begging for, she'll flip out on that one. He takes graphics design and does anime stuff, and he just realized how good she is. My baby is home schooled and this is part of her extra curricular stuff and when it comes to that, I'll spend whatever I have to spend to help her on that. She doesn't have teachers telling her what she is doing is too dark and she should be "checked out" so no one to suffocate her and what she feels. I talk to her a great deal and she says what she does is to give each character she draws a personality and that helps her draw thru it.....Bob Ross.... my favorite painter, he used to do that and he was so awesome. Both of my boys are musicians.... one plays drums and in his dad's band, the youngest writes rap and puts that down and produces, writes and puts all that together. All of my kids seem to be very artistic driven. |
