I can loan you a body & lens if this is an emergency situation and you need a system right away. I'm in Hollywood - you can swing by and pick it up any time. I'll need it back in a few days but if you need something right now - it's here!

Lemme' know.....

Now that's a stand-up guy - :thumbsup

twistyneck 03-28-2011 02:25 PM

That sucks. What kind of shithole town do you live in where you can't leave anything unattended for 15 minutes?

same here, I'm over paranoid and had some shit stolen a few years ago from a locked car when I was heading south on a trip. Did not realize until we went to check in at the hotel that we had no fucking bags.

that completly SUCKS!!! hope it works out for you... you nikon? might be able to loan you some glass

CYF 03-28-2011 02:47 PM

Your insurance might not cover photo equipment that's used for business or professional use.

Matyko 03-28-2011 02:54 PM

i hope your insurance will cover everything.
some nice comments in this thread, there are still good people @ gfy :pimp

Why are you all so pissed, I just borrowed it...

NaughtyRob 03-28-2011 08:46 PM

Props to Dean, Brian and Marco for offering to loan him cameras and lenses. Good dudes all around.

MasturbateFun 03-28-2011 08:52 PM

That sucks bro, I've heard of criminals that will watch a photographer on a location shoot then after the shoot is done and the photog packs up they will bash out the window when they go to lunch. Hope they catch the fuckers.

Zyber 03-29-2011 12:49 AM

sorry to hear about your loss :(

On a side note, don't you need to be actually present in order to get robbed?

Porno Dan 03-29-2011 01:55 AM

You live on cul-de-sac in a nice neighborhood.

I can't believe someone would have the balls to break in your car in your driveway with you and the dog at home.

What is this world coming to.

DVTimes 03-29-2011 04:33 AM

does suck

my advise is put your gear in tatty looking bags.

one simple option is to put everything into black bags, then people just presume your getting rid of rubbish.

JustDaveXxx 03-29-2011 04:46 AM

Thats lame, but people laugh a me when i bring my stills camera bag, video camera bag and laptop into a restaurant when i go to lunch or dinner after a shoot.

If you cant afford to loose it, don't leave it in your car.

Sorry to hear it.

I own a Laser lighting company and the lasers systems i have are 40K to 80K per system. I had a friend who was in my same business did a rave show in vegas and got home from his show at 8am and was to tired to bring his gear in.

He woke up at 11am and went to unload his car, when he came to find that someone else unloaded his gear for him.

Was pretty sad. Laser shows back then fetched $1000, $2000 per show with 3 shows a week. Needles to say he was out of business. All of that because he was to tired to unload his gear.

His lesson was way enough lesson for me. Nothing i can not afford to loose, stays in my car!! Fuck that!!!

As I understand it, that is probably the only option for you.

If we are dishing out advise on hindsight, I'd say don't leave the window open for starters. But I guess he probably realises that now.

same here or I park where I can see the car sitting at the table or I go somewhere else... you learn that skill from ridding Harley's for 20+ years. gotta say though Dave, I might have left my gear sitting in the car in the driveway at HOME for a few at home.... where I live now. no issues at all...

we once had a big van full of audio equipment stolen - about $50k worth in total. 2 weeks later they found the empty van right next to a police station. but as far as i remember insurance paid most of it

edgeprod 03-29-2011 06:50 AM

woj 03-29-2011 06:59 AM

So will you have your new gear in time enough to shoot at the Phenix forum? Might have a few girls that will want to do content exchange with you if you do.

TurboAngel 03-30-2011 02:40 PM

That suck but look on the bright side they didn't steal your car. I'm sooooo bad for not locking my car but where I live I think no one locks up.
