Congrats on graciously losing my data and then continuing to host a single web page that only I and my programmer occasionally accessed for several years. Must have cost you a fortune in lost bandwidth.

I have been hosting some of my sites with webair for a few years, I only have good things to say about them and about Mike, and I love the yearly greeting cards he keeps sending every year....

On the other hand I've been on GFY for more then a few years, and since day 1 AaronM has been a prick.

Then we agree to disagree, I'm sorry you took it so personally, but you should watch the way you speak to people. It was completely out of line, unprofessional, abusive, and uncalled for IMHO. It only served to cost you money in the long run.

Yes, he does have a good point.

However....Every hosting company I host with has provided me with a backups and I was told that they were providing that as well. After the fact, he tells me I had to go in and turn it on.

Why did I not have it backed up? Again, I purchased the sites and they were inactive. Webair knew this and they transferred the sites from the old host. Since I was told there was a backup, that was good enough for me. Clearly I learned from that mistake. I never had the data myself and I put the sites on his box where they sat until development could be finished. Unfortunately, all was lost before that happened.

Correction:

I cut his FREE hosting.

I think the word "disagreeable" does not quite fit in this situation. I'll look for the post, but he basically attacked a highly respected professional person in the industry, not to mention a close friend of mine. I do not condone "bullying women". If he had an issue with their services, thats one thing, but to personally attack and abuse someone is not called for.

I simply decided to cut my ties with him. It must have really hurt his feeling for him to have to take it public.

Sorry does not make sense. The only reason we are having this convo is due to the fact that i no longer wanted to host you for FREE, as a direct result as to how you treated Bari @ moniker. End of discussion.

Im just posting my personal experience, you can take it as you wish... no one is twisting your arm to host anywhere, everyone can make their decision on where to host their own sites.

Apparently the fact that the only thing active on that box was a single private web page which I would have gladly moved had it been requested. And I offered to move it BEFORE you even requested it. Yes, there was other stuff on that server but the DNS for it had long since been pointed elsewhere.

Hi All - I'm not looking to stir up any trouble and/or cause any drama.....but thought I'd jump in and give my :2 cents:

First and foremost... Michael and the entire Webair crew are nothing but professional and always available for their clients. They rock!

As for Michael and I a "banging".... I'd love nothing more to do so however Michael and I are great friends - and he was only going to bat for me when he replied to AaronM's post.

AaronM - If you had an issue with me or Moniker, there was no reason to verbally and publically attack me. There are other ways of communicating. I'm sorry for any inconvenience Moniker had caused you. The past is the past, it's there for a reason. Let's leave it there and hopefully try and make peace.

I am attending the Phoenix Forum so there's a good chance I won't be back online....at least for a while anyway.

Both Bari and the Moniker team has been very helpful to us over the years. We don't receive any special service, just the support ticket system like most of you guys.

Let's not get unprofessional? Too late for that man. You blew unprofessional out of the water on March 11th.

Keep telling people I bully women for no reason and you may very well end up with a situation you really don't want to deal with.

AaronM, those were some harsh comments... We both know that women hired for their looks don't stick around for that long in this industry. They simple come and go.

Let me be perfectly clear that YOU caused the inconvenience, not Moniker. Since I was transferred to a decent rep things have gone very smoothly and I highly value Moniker and the professional and competent rep who handles my account.

Im not anyones side here, but will say offering virtual hosting can lead to numerous "insert hosting co. here...sucks!!" it is in art form that most hosts wont /cant deal with to have thousands of webmasters hammering your virtual servers and takes great skill to tend to the madness...we love it will keep on doing it...see my sig!!!!
