Then last April, Tzvetkoff was arrested in Las Vegas and charged with the same crimes those sites founders were charged with today: money laundering, bank fraud, wire fraud. As an Australian citizen with a lot of wealth, he was considered a flight risk and denied bail.

Then after a "secret" meeting with prosecutors, he was suddenly out on bail. And now, his former colleagues are the ones facing serious jail time.

They probably have everything offshore, I doubt they would keep more than 1-2 days worth of transactions in USA

Can't you just see a million of these scams popping up today?

(No, I really don't want to do this - just thought I'd feed the scammers some fresh ideas)

Not entirely. Multinational US corps do it because the mandatory 35% tax they have to pay on any income generated outside the US. The current US tax law allows them to defer tax until it is delcared/moved into the US. Obama has chosen to just tax the individuals paychecks who create the jobs in the US instead of fixing the tax law and create a fair rate that would not only entice more US investment, but foreign investment as well. The US is so far behind on other countries on this its not even funny.

For online gaming sites, since they're completely on the internet, they did not have to register as a corp in the US. Instead they setup in countries that are tax havens. And instead of following the UK and taxing online gaming transactions and make billiions of dollars in tax money, the US decided to ban online gambling because Jesus doesn't like it.

Pokerstars is down for me now.... wow what a catastrophe. They should just tax the fuck out of them. I guess the govt prefer just to take as much $$ as they can all at once.

It was not immediately clear what will happen to any money that U.S. citizens had in accounts associated with the poker companies.

Prosecutors also filed civil charges against the poker companies and several individual "payment processors," seeking at least $3 billion in penalties.
This could turn ugly. Anyone knows what processors is involved with this ?

Agent 488 04-15-2011 03:37 PM

Ryan Lang, Ira Rubin, Bradley Franzen, Chad Elie and John Campos (involved with payment processors).

HighlyIntoxicated 04-15-2011 03:37 PM

probably entropay, webmoney, and moneybookers

Compared to this one: http://atdhe.net/

I know, different reason etc. but is the designer off today or something?

Also, http://www.pokerstars.com/ and ub.com work for me. The others don't.

sadiedazzle 04-15-2011 03:50 PM

Interesting story. Comes up for me too. Wonder how that is possible if it has been seized.

xxweekxx 04-15-2011 03:51 PM

why the fuck would u live in usa if u make millions running "poker sites"

some people are dumb.. if i had the kinda money they did(tens, if not hundreds of millions), id be in a nice country tucked away spending my loot...

Agent 488 04-15-2011 03:55 PM

looks bad for the processors. they built tons of fake web sites like pet stores to hide the transaction from the banks.

Si 04-15-2011 04:20 PM

When is the next WSOP event on?
