You know, the kind of things that should take priority over playing Mister Tough Guy with intoxicated girls in an all night restaurant.

So the cop was supposed to let the girl strike him? Then what? In the heat of the moment if he doesn't stop her, the situation escalates and then someone really gets hurt.

That chick is lucky they didn't taser her a few times after the cuffs were on..........well, now that I think about I'm sure they waited until they had her away from the cell phone cameras.

The girl was drunk and probably not too bright either, but the fact of the matter is that the cop smacked her first.

More importantly, the whole incident started because the cops thought the girls were talking too loudly. Unless the restaurant manager complained about such, the cops would have done far better to leave well enough alone and just laugh it off.

I mean, how much of a threat to the community do a few loudly chattering girls in an all night restaurant really represent?

Contrary to your post, the person that is GETTING ARRESTED is allowed to know why... Not any old person that happens to be standing there... and officers are instructed, especially in a crowded, high-tension situation, to first get the person being detained under control, and the situation handled, prior to then telling the person being detained what they are being detained for. This is for the safety of both the officers and the person being arrested.

The main problem with those tasers is that somehow people seem to think that it is ok for police officers to use them to administer pain as a form of punishment (a punishment not chosen by the courts but by the police officers themselves) or as a way to force people to act in a certain way.
