This is what happens when you do away with a "distraction" war (ie Iraq) and put the main focus on the war we should of been fighting in the first place. Lets remember after 9/11 Bush gave the FBI as it's main priority to go after obscenity charges with-in our boarders rather than securing them.

It was that kind of lack of focus which caused Bush to fail, as Bush was more about tutting his own horn and pandering to the right vs getting the job done.. While Obama is far from perfect he did what he said he would do and it's funny to now watch all you right wingers cry about it.

The simple fact is we have people that can get the job done in our services.. Bush didn't let them do their job.. Obama let them do their job.. So if you ask what Obama did? It's simple he let the pros do what they do instead of playing fluff fluff for the cameras as Bush did while pushing his own agenda.. (ie Iraq)

Not too many have the personal resources and family resources he had, so it will be difficult for someone to just jump up and take his place.

Gas prices were actually higher in Bush's last year. The housing collapse was a result of the deregulation of the banking industry under Bush. Obama may not be a saint but he isn't the cause of all our current ills.

Stock market for the last year paints a different picture.

My stocks are now worth more than they have been in more than 8 years. My house is still worth more than what I paid for it.

My house value is down from its peak but that is because of the asshole fucktards that shouldn't have bought and then walked away. To me Obama's reelection will hinge primarily on the economy. Yes, this will help him and he will likely see a nice jump in his approval numbers. Maybe he can capitalize on that jump and turn things around, but the election is a long ways off.

If we get to September 2012 and unemployment is around 6% or less Obama will be nearly impossible to beat unless there is some kind of major scandal involving him. He will be able to stand in front of the country and say, "I fixed the economy and created millions of jobs, I got healthcare reform passed, I passed budgets that will lower the deficit (assuming that he and the republicans can work together to get budget passed that does this) and I got Bin Laden." That will be a pretty difficult line to compete against.

However, if the economy is still doing poorly, he could be in trouble because people will be happy Bin Laden was killed, but they will care more about having a job.
