there's a lot of similar theme movies out, but a realistic Bionic Man movie with Lee Majors doing the voice over at the start... we can rebuild him

Logan's Run 2012: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0402344/

Akira, they are supposed to be making it. Lets hope they don't fuck it up like they did with Fist of the North Star.

Equilibrium (2002) was a great Logan's Run X 1984 movie! Saw it a few weeks ago. A little basic in plot but all the Sandman themes are there.

In a futuristic world where citizens are forced to take a drug that eliminates emotions, a top government official, Clerick John Preston (Christian Bale), skips his dose of Prozium. He has been enforcing laws that forbid books, music, and art but now begins to experience feelings. This leads to Preston joining an underground force and becoming emotionally involved with Mary (Emily Watson). Now, Preston works to overthrow the government that is led by the repressive Dupont (Angus Macfadyen).

They didn't work too much on the flame interest, you can't remake a love story like Logan's Run without Jessica 6, what actress would you fall for in a 2 hour movie these days?

BTW - Eve = Jennifer Brooks (my Jessica 6)

Has there ever been a remake which actually went back and altered the original classic to where it was no longer accessible in it's original form? If so, you may have a point. :2 cents:

Oh shieeett, someone said Flight of the Navigator. Loved that movie as a kid. But I think a remake would flop badly, something about the way they do futuristic shit these days I just think it would end up horrible and unimaginative.

Midnight Express could be a cool remake

Fortunately I've never thought of that ...

Casablanca
Full Metal Jacket

CannonBall Run.

Remade in the style of the new Ocean movies. Big all-star cast like the original but updated with new cars and special effects. Maybe leave out Capt. Chaos however.

Blasphemy.

I would personally murder everyone in Hollywood if they even tried.

Keano Reeves I believe is going to be in that.

Didn't someone else just pick it back up? Was reading an interview with one of the actors, same dude who just made Thor, I think it's coming out soon.

Classic movie. Hard to remake that, but the concept would be cool if they loosely remake it. But it would be hard to re-cast... him.

Another good one would be The Shining and still use Jack

then

IMDB Pro is showing the status as completed. MGM is still set to distribute North American release. Chris Hemsworth is currently filming the Avengers so they must have at least finished shooting.

I'd like to see Terminator 3 & 4 erased from history and James Cameron given a big budget to make the Terminator 3 set in the future we've all wanted to see for the past 20 years!

I'd happily pay $20 - $30 or more to see that, especially if it was done right in 3D

And lets have Edward Furlong back as John Connor!

I would say the number one rule about remakes is, don't remake a classic!

Films that are classics stand the test of time because they are quality, remaking them is an insult to the original.

The best recent example I can think of a fantastic remake was The Crazies (2010)

George A. Romeros 1973 low budget original really sucked! Great idea though and the remake was outstanding, that's a great example of a remake done right.

Willow

Last talk was that they were digitally removing all references to China as being the adversary and making it North Korea. The movie itself has been completed for more than a year as well.
