If you have decent credit you could always buy a place. Especially if first time buyer of a home there are incentives and opportunities.
Now is literally the best time to buy a place to live in.

Mansions in Arizona literally 300K, normal house in a resident area in Northern Cali as a low as 130K. Los Banos California some houses that are awesome and brand new going for 150K.

If you have a reasonable financial outlook buy is simply better you wont find a better time than right now. Real Estate is tanked and even going on a double dipper.

Some great houses at 55K in the mid west USA. Saw a story on that the other day on CNN.

Lastly... If anyone here rents right now you are an idiot.
If you can afford even $900 a month on rent you can own your own home, unless of course your credit is shit but even then there are ways.

House just down the street from me in excellent shape 135K and its a 1/2acre 3500sq foot house. 5 years ago valued at 350K+.

Owning a house is truly the first step to building wealth in a 5-10 year outlook.
The investment is an impossible fail and to boot you got a roof over your head you own.

I live fairly close to Sarasota, It's a nice place. Ringling school of Art is there, That School is like the Harvard of cgi schools, Disney, EA etc recruit from there.

Lot of rich folks that way, it may not be city enough for ya though, but I don't know where you are from. It's like a 2 hr drive from Tampa and a 3hr drive from miami though, so you could take a cheap greyhound or drive or whatever if you wanted to and have some fun.

Here is a link of stuff to do there i guess.
http://www.sarasotafl.org/things-to-do/

This may be more your flavor by your description of your lifestyle.
http://www.sarasotafl.org/article/fr...der-5-dollars/

As far as the cheap listing goes, lot of people in Florida will buy a house and turn a room or all the rooms into small efficiencies and build private entrances etc.

Link to craigslist to check out usual rates over there for an apt.

Best of luck

I was thinking that the ideal would be to live in a building that is upper middle class where a normal size one bedroom apartment might be renting for around $1500, but to actually have a smaller studio like 15x15 in the same building for like a third of the rent. then you would have the advantage of not having welfare neighbors and you'd have all the room you needed anyways without paying for a whole bunch of extra space, and maybe have the perqs of having a good fitness room and a good location too

This is not what i want, you completely miss the point of this thread. Even if I was worth a million dollars I would not live in a place like that.

Unfortunately I don't have lots of money. anything that needed more than a 5k down payment would be out of my price range right now. Even then I couldn't pay more that $400/month. Mainly because of medical expenses.

devilspost 05-08-2011 08:29 PM

Go on a bank robbery spree, if you dont get caught you have some nice cash, if you do you get a nice small 6x9 apartment free of charge and free medical.

One of my employees is actually looking to rent out a 400sf studio apt in south tampa. I think it might be just out of your range, I think he's looking for $450 ish but cable is included.

Just thought I'd throw it out there to increase your FL options.

You have to be pretty bored to read one of mikesinner's "hypothetical" threads.....

Why don't you research this yourself Mike? Start with google and find real estate websites, then filter by price and or location. It is not complicated.

You are the only one who knows what you want (assuming you do of course) so who better to research it?

I will consider any country but I will also consider what that country has to offer.

I am thinking about it but I don't know about their health care system. Plus running adult sites in places where porn is illegal scares me.

Police officer cannot track your PC in just in the internet. You may run porn but not too many people you can work just you alone like me. I work at home and nobody knows what I am doing. Hit me up I have a good place for you. $450 per month you have your pool, 2 bedrooms, 24/7 security guards, easy to get cab, girls, night club, friendly management I can show you the area if you wanted to. :) Philippines by the way

I only need 1 bedroom. To be honest I don't even need a kitchen. I actually pay $350 a month for where I live now and that's with bills and cable but it's sort of in the country and next to nothing.

My dad died over there, so the health care and doctors suck. I had Dengue 2x.

It's easy to track down in the Philippines, i would check their IP address and see their internet provider. They submit proof of billing and other shit, that's how i punished the credit card thieves.

Philippines sucks right now, Muslims are pissed over there.

marlboroack 05-12-2011 04:24 AM

Ah i miss the Philippines. Mike, i highly do advise you go there tho and try living 1st. I was eating dogs and shit making myself known.. raided 2x and stupid other shit. so i got black listed till October of 2012. Make sure you update your immigration and such also, i said fuck them for 4 years. Adultzone can tell you more about the kickass place for sure :pimp
