It's not a strawman because this wasn't your initial stance. You pretty much generalized at first, so no.

I said nothing about conspiracy against atheists. I said that if atheists were to "reverse proselytize" people would be up in arms and rightly so.
I never said you did.

I wasn't.

I'm not sure what you mean.

The point is that there seems to be evidence that when carbon dioxide levels rise, so does the temperature. The mechanism for this is known.

Is it in dispute that human activity adds additional carbon dioxide into the atmosphere?

Well it appears you either misread what I wrote initially or read something extra into it.

thats not the point. is irrelevant to my post and also irrelevant to the "humans cause climate change" argument.

its in dispute that the tiny amount that human activity adds effects the environment at all.

well if you want to share the info, I'd like to read up and understand why the top scientists in the world are confused on this but you are not. :winkwink:

Logical assumption on my part. Unless specifically clarified, you grouped everyone together.

"...visit the dying in hospitals explaining to them how if they just accept Jesus or whoever they will be forgiven and go to heaven and avoid eternal torment."

That reads to you that I grouped everyone together? :winkwink:

Someone would explain to you what "initial" means and specifically what I quoted you saying. Great misdirection though:)

If someone did that to me I would punch them in the face. There is nothing to be forgiven for. Sin is a Christian invention. The biblical good is a prick.

No it isn't. Burritos are real - whether they're good or not. Invisible men who live in the sky are not real. Really, it seems most religions kill members of other religions over the SAME invisible man who lives in the sky. That's beyond stupid.

Also, the world's not flat, and the Sun doesn't revolve around the Earth. If you're going to believe 2,000 year old bullshit written by people who would die if they got an infected hangnail, you might as well believe all the idiotic shit they spewed.

As soon as a member of your family gets cancer - or even a minor infection - you're not going to be praying to God; you're going to be heading to a hospital.

Lol mikesinner. Cults and secularism have done more killing in the name of their agenda than religion could ever hope to.

Oh please, NOBODY has killed more people on this planet than christians.

cam_girls 05-10-2011 07:38 PM

If Mexico declared war on Africa you'd call that a religious war too.

God is very real, I can talk to him just as easily as talking to any of you, by pointing to a random quote.

He's not a sky pixie, he's the result of macro quantum entanglement non local coordination optimising our pathways through parallel future projections! :winkwink:

Since the topic is basically open, why not take a chill pill and challenge your understanding?

Without the use or religion as their motivator they would not be able to carry out those wars. The truth is there are very few atheists in foxholes. There are very few in prison as well.

Of course there are atheist everywhere but most of us like our lives too much to risk losing them in a war unless we have a damn good reason and us Vs them isn't good enough.

The Demon 05-10-2011 10:18 PM

Stalin and 50 million dead would disagree with you.

Agent 488 05-10-2011 10:25 PM

political ideology can motivate millions to murder as well.

to think that human nature and the fruits of evolution will change if people stopped believing in religion is just as naive as much of what passes for religion and spirituality for the majority of the world.

The Jews in the bible, the Christians that killed Jews and pagans during the early years of Christianity. The protestants and catholics that killed each other during the 300 year war. Hitler, who used god is on our side in almost every speech and who also said that his extermination of the Jews was doing gods work. He also wrote that Jesus saw the Jews for the dangerous race they were.

These things alone more than cover for all the rest of worlds wars.

And that 50 million number is blown out of proportion. Most theist websites come up with some idiotic shit like that. The accepted number by most scholars is 20 million tops.

The Demon 05-10-2011 10:34 PM

Lol, do you even to bother to provide evidence for your baseless speculation!

Good thing you didn't pull those numbers out of your ass, or used religion as a jusitification for 3 events that weren't religion based. Oh wait.

Ahh, because they werent 'religion based' genocides the fact that they were done by a majority of christians is meaningless. :1orglaugh

So by your logic, if two guys who happened to be.. Lets say Jewish, massacred 300 people, it's automatically a religious event? ROFLROFLROFL. Enough said. Way to know your history. (Hint: Sarcasm)

2 guys is not a society, nice try though. You must be a product of that wonderful Texas Bush educational system, or more likely you were home schooled by your stepdads collection of All In The Family.

As opposed to your retarded hippie education of sitting by the fire and smoking pot while forgoing showering or any kind of acceptable hygiene rituals?

But still, your argument that just because they were Christian, it was a "religious" war, is priceless. I hope you got your GED but I'm guessing education isn't too high a priority on your list.:1orglaugh

Where did I say they were religious wars? Where did I even use the word war? I feel like I'm playing chess with a 5 year old. Do you suffer from some type of mental disorder?

Oh I'm sorry, you want to play a game of misdirection after you get your ass handed to you because you're too stupid to use common sense and do research before you type. But to amuse myself with an inferior, I'll play your game. 6 millions Jews were killed in the Holocaust during World War 2. There.. Keep trying though.:1orglaugh

Not only do you have serious mental issues you suffer from a reading comprehension problem as well. Maybe the two are related? Seriously, have you ever had a mental health evaluation?
