Well progam owners just can't afford to pay affiliates $35 a sale and charge a price that surfers will be willing to pay. In the near future the affiliate model will go away. Site owners will have to pimp their own shit so they can save the cost of paying affiliates.

Look at mainsteam affilate programs. Affiliates are lucky if they get 15% on a sale and it's closer to 5%-8%. And let's face it no one will be an affiliate of a porn site that is only going to pay then 15% on a $10 monthly sale.

Well, maybe 99.9% of people who are visiting generic porn sites. But I wouldn't know, that's not the market I am in. I would probably be out of business if I was.

I sell memberships for $29.95. No complaints. Decent ratios and rebills. Of course I have my up and down sales swings, and some sites do better than others, but I have unique content that people will pay for IF that is what they are looking for. Not everyone can make money pushing my sites, that's a given, but those who do well, do very well.

I've also tested different price points and they have not made a difference for what I sell. And I still test different price points from time to time just to make sure I'm doing the right thing.

Will it all change in 6 months from now? Maybe. But today I can sell my sites for $29.95.

I would accept $10 PPS if the ratios were 3x better. If a ratio went from 1:1000 to 1:300 you would make more money on $10 PPS.

I operate a few places, and beleive me there is. Theses kind of businesses operate on such low margins that a 10-20 % drop in affluence is a very hard financial hit. Competition is ferocious, and it's getting harder and harder to make money for everybody. You have to scale and organise everything as much as you can.

I've raised my membership fee by $10 and give my members better quality video and regular bonus updates. Not only am I retaining better then when I had prices lower, I'm making more money a month on one site then I did on two sites in 2006 at my peak! Affiliates like making more per signup as well and promote me more heavily.

It has to do with the consumers perceived value. Prices on EVERYTHING have gone up, gas, milk, produce, everything. They expect things to be more expensive, and they retain much better when they are getting more at a higher quality along with that price increase.

If every single affiliate got swallowed up into a black hole tomorrow, online porn would survive and do a lot better. Sites could be built to suit customers, content shot to suit customers, people working for the sites could work to help customers and there would be less free porn.
