That would be why I still actually pay the basic service and make no use of it. I'm sure if Time Warner had an issue they'd let me know...I just called and bitched them out for throttling my connection, so they know full well what I download.

haha, I noticed that. Almost every post sounds like someone living off the grid, chopping down trees with a swiss army knife and hunting squirrels with their bare teeth -- but in reality they have 3 satellite dishes with DirectTV plus the cable company gold package with 10 showtimes and 15 different hbo.

Still doesn't give you the right to torrent content. I guess it's ok to walk out of wal-mart with DVDs as long as wal-mart doesn't complain about it then? Whether TW knows you download or not doesn't matter. The content owner is what matters. And I'm 100% sure they aren't ok with it.

I watch mainly sports and news and the odd movie.HDTV and internet is about 130 per month

baddog 05-22-2011 08:34 PM

Actually, he would have the right to download it, depending on what is being downloaded. It would be kinda like theft, if it was a new release, drm, blue ray hd burn, from a subscription service like hbo, and some other times. Outside of that, they all hate that it's legal, they lost that fight in the courts already.

The illegal part of this is why adult content owners can sue pirates, if a number of things happen. However, if anyone in our industry sued an ex-member that downloaded a movie they could have downloaded as a member, that Company will lose that fight very quickly.

cablevision, got the Gold package, with internet and phone. It's getting kind of expensive though... The phone is good since they don't list your number, unlimited local and long distance calls, and my wife can call her parents in Japan for only .07 a minute.

Let me ask you a question about your Cablevision service...

Have you found the picture quality to be slowly deteriorating over time? I'm talking about the digital artifacting and jittering. I couldn't even watch the fight on HBO on Saturday. The picture wouldn't stop fucking up for even a few seconds.

For me, they're the only game in town, so I have to just suck it up -- but as soon as Fios is available I'm ditching their lame service. They really do suck balls.

True. I scroll through the channels some nights then just end up switching the damn thing off.

Almost every channel has a +1 channel aswell now. So if you missed the shit they show by an hour, you get a second chance to watch the same shitty programme. :1orglaugh

Cable for internet only. Who needs cable TV unless you don't know how to use the internet.
