Homegrown Video take on inactive webmasters...

I might of had my differences with CE but one of the many things I do give credit to them for is how they always kept webmasters in the system. Sure it meant thousands of inactive webmasters, but at the end of the day, truthfully, those were easier to manage than the ones that sent one sign up every 3 months but expected daily service considerations with zero patience for anyone else in line with the same priorities.

At the end of the day, those accounts, as long as there was still a valid email, meant a list that could be marketed to until the union of product and sales was achieved so it actually did have an administrative and marketing value to maintaining it.

Still, at the end of the day... Maybe this is just their way of telling you that you should've been promoting Homegrown all along...

We consider it our responsibility to provide value and incentive to the webmaster's so that he has no reason for becoming inactive in the first place... :2 cents::winkwink:

We're sending an email to account that have been idle for over 6 months saying it'll be suspended if you don't login at least once, just to check you stats and show us you're alive. Then a second email two weeks after that if nothing happen saying we closed the account. I don't think that's much to ask for. We got thousands and thousands of inactive accounts created by wannabe affiliates that never sent any traffic or dropped us for years and i want to be able to focus on the real active ones.

As for our products being shit, we have been on a steady grow since 2007 with the HD version. Appart from cams and dating, who else is still there paying its affiliates more money each month? We're still the only ones (to my knowledge) in this industry to publish our top100 affiliates detailed stats each month... http://www2.totemcash.com/free/statistics.php

Now if you think your account has been closed while it was still active in any way, just hit me up and I'll fix it.

So even if you're still sending traffic, they shut down your account?

Keeping an affiliate account active requires no effort and only a tiny amount of DB space.

Deleting 'inactive' affiliates (and keeping the money in their accounts) does cost time, money, effort,...

IMO, a company that does this looks like they are desperate and is probably going down soon.

Totemcash = shitlisted.

One sale, one rebill or just one time login to check your stats in a six month period is enough to keep your account live. We're not shutting down active accounts.

Date Details Amount
2011-03-18 Rebill - Virtuagirlhd - DEBIT - Recurring 14.95 EUR every 30 days - WEBBILLING $8.87
2011-04-18 Rebill - Virtuagirlhd - DEBIT - Recurring 14.95 EUR every 30 days - WEBBILLING $9.14
2011-05-17 Rebill - Virtuagirlhd - DEBIT - Recurring 14.95 EUR every 30 days - WEBBILLING $8.97

while it's not much, I guess this is considered a rebill - yet I've gotten the "Your TotemCash account has been deleted" email as well... so you might want to look into your script, or adjust your quoted response. Just FYI. :2 cents:

//Edit: And while I'm answering, I'm also getting the same error while trying to look at my stats:

Ok, your answer implies that you have part of your focus on inactive accounts and
this takes away from the focus on active accounts.

I'm just trying to figure out how you are focused on accounts that aren't sending
traffic.

I mean, do you open the lid to the hard drive and physically look at areas that are
not being written to all fucking day long?

I swear, I have 1000's of videos in my tube that are not getting any hits and I swear
that I'm not focusing on them.

How do you focus on shit that ain't doing anything?

I mean, if your balls don't itch, do you spend all day thinking about them not itching?
If your balls don't itch does that distract you from scratching your ass?

I guess that I'm unique in that I can devote my full attention to scratching my ass
when my balls are not even itching.

Maybe you need a new set of balls.

The kind of balls that would cause you to post something that made sense and
stand by it.

:pimp

I'm a pimp Muafucka.
I'll bitch slap some stupid shit.

Can a disabled account be re-enabled if they get in touch with you, or have they gone past the point of no return?

Sexy Rex 05-23-2011 01:34 PM

ok, looks like we closed some accounts with rebills as well. shit. we'll have them back on tomorrow morning with an email of explanation. this does not make us look good I agree, can't do much more than apologize for the mishap, feel free to unleash hell on me now.

just email me any account and I'll be happy to put it back to active. I'll have a different answer ready to whoever sent 50 clicks back in 2005 and did nothing since tho.

Glad that you found the mistake and fixed / intend to fix it.

Mistakes happen.

ok, that's fair. :thumbsup

btw: I still think canning 'inactive' affiliates is a waste of resources and a potential loss of income :2 cents:
