If there is a book already out for 15 years that says this character DIES then how were you duped? Unless you are just a total moron.

Then you are making a mistake. Because Ned's death is the catalyst that drives the rest of the series.

Yep, great show for sure. I hope they make at least 1 season per book if not more.

i was one of the orignal fans, maybe you were as well

before all these tv fans showed up..lol
im surprised at the reaction to the ending

i always thought jon snow was more important to the story

i cant wait for the final books

Chosen 06-14-2011 04:50 AM

Haven't read the books, nor did I watch the show...

What is better, the books or the show? :pimp

Dwreck 06-14-2011 05:06 AM

from the reaction in this thread its time I get on this... I have no idea whats going on...

vdbucks 06-14-2011 05:26 AM

I ended up liking the show so much that I went out and bought the book (1st of the series as many know)... and am reading it pretty much along with the show. Probably one of the best I've seen yet in terms of sticking to the story line throughout the books; not to mention an all around great show.

C4W 06-14-2011 05:28 AM

It's awasome truely a super tv show :)

vdbucks 06-14-2011 05:36 AM

So by the first several comments... I'm going to assume Ned recanted his previous statement regarding Joff in order to save his daughter, and then Joff had him beheaded anyway?

No, I haven't gotten to that part in the book, and haven't seen ep 9 yet, just making an obvious guess... Though I will be kind of pissed if it's true, considering Ned is like the only honest guy in the whole show/book...

If the above is true, I guess I'll be rooting for the Dothraki as I make my way through the books...

Nicky 06-14-2011 06:37 AM

When you play the game of thrones you either win or die :)

vdbucks 06-14-2011 07:02 AM

Just watched it.. thought so

Ned should've just stuck to his honor and told the "gods and men" that Joff is a twink bastard IMHO.

I think had both his daughters been safely outside of Kings Landing he probably would have said that he was a bastard child of incest but he did what he did to save his daugher. I don't think he cared for his own life at that point.

brassmonkey 06-14-2011 08:39 AM

sunday and im tapping out no more 4 me

that was made clear in the tv series

he said he would not trade his honor for a few more years of his life

then the bald guy asked what about the lives of his daughters and then he changed his mind.

As I continue reading the first book, I have to ask myself if I want to continue the rest. This first book has been less about anything but drama, and G. R. R. Martin seems to have a hardon for little twink bastard boys having their scar faced minions beat on the girl he's supposed to marry. The end of this book is becoming quite twisted and to be honest, ridiculous imho.

I really hope the next book doesn't spend the first 300 pages describing how little bastard king Joff continues to have the Hound beat on Sansa (even though she's been a twat throughout half the book lol)... oops, sorry to ruin half of next weeks episode ><

I gotta say, that's pretty fucking astute. When I read the first book, I wondered who the main characters were. I always thought it was the bastard, as a cosmic justice kind of thing. As you read the rest of the books, Jon grows, in every way as a character/person. I re read the series last month, so much I forgot. You will find out that you guessed correctly by the 3rd book.

Imortyl Pussycat 06-14-2011 01:01 PM

i cant even fathom what is going to emerge out of that dothraki tent next episode...can't wait

manlydude 06-14-2011 01:32 PM

This serie is very cool... But honestly i where also really suprised of the ending this time...but how in the World will i be able to wait for a whole yeah for the next season after the next episode is done :(

hottoddy 06-14-2011 01:32 PM

Jon Snow.

The prevailing theory of the fans is that Jon Snow is not Ned Stark's (Sean Bean's character) bastard son. Rather, it was ruse to protect Jon. His true parents are Lyanna Stark (Ned's sister) and Rhaegar Targaryen (Mad King's eldest son). Both were killed during the fighting that seated King Baratheon. The books say Ned found Lyanna (who was supposed to marry Baratheon), and she said "promise me . . ." before dying.

So, that makes Jon a "Dragon" and true blood-line heir of the throne.

It's a good theory. But here's the problem with that theory... Anyone who knew about it is... Dead.

Imortyl Pussycat 06-14-2011 03:34 PM

Tywin Lannister might be my favorite character

Really? I ruined the whole episode by telling that the twink is also a coward who would have his hound beat Sansa into submission? By all means then.. but I dare say there is much more than that and in reality, that'll probably take up 2 minutes of screen time.

I mean, being that I'm a loser and all, I could tell you 3/4 of the next episode now, and the rest in an hour.. if you'd like.

But to answer your question, seriously, I didn't post anything for the sake of trying to be "cool".. I posted in slight disgust for the direction the book was taking. Sorry if I ruined the whole next episode for you by informing you that Joffery is such a coward that he couldn't control anything without his hound to do his bidding; even though that's not even the half of whats to come next week...

Except for, maybe, the old blind guy at the wall. He was a targaeryon so he might know the truth. It is doubtful but who knows.

vdbucks 06-14-2011 05:27 PM

Just finished the book and... oh shit is all I'm going to say. For those not reading, or who haven't read the book(s).. season 2 is going to seem so far away.

Ummmm. I don't want to ruin the future books for you, but I was correct in my earlier post. :)
