Fitty people reading

I'm in a book club, and as we couldn't meet for two months we have two books to read: We Have To Talk About Kevin, by Lionel Shriver; and, Let the Great World Spin, by Colum McCann. I'm almost done with 'Kevin' which is about a teenage high school spree killer, and told from his mom's POV... it's good but a bit overwritten.

A couple weeks ago I finished 'Just Kids' by Patti Smith, about her life with photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, and really enjoyed it.

I'm reading all the Warhammer 40K books... before that I read all the Discworld Books

What's a "book"?

I usually only read when I'm on a long flight. Mysteries mostly, the last book I bought was the follow up to The Davinci Code, but the book kind of sucks, formulatic, predictable:disgust

A bit long and pretty heavy subject matter (Turn of the Century NY serial killer mystery), but VERY well written. It's one of those you say you will pick up for 20 min and end up reading for 4 hrs....

TV series was good. Still waiting for them to come up with something else novel for him to do.

enjoyable book, altho one has to read casteneda with a very different eye than when they first came out.

that was the first book I read in the series. too many technical and anthro flaws for me to enjoy the same way I did when I was a kid.

I enjoyed those.

I'm reading Winnie the Pooh, it came free with iBooks.

You will like the book from an entirely different view point. I grew up in a different era than you and have seen both high tech and no tech. You on the other hand rely on EVERYTHING being high tech without even knowing it.

I'm reading the Robert Jordan series Wheel Of Time. (Currently on Book 3.)

Also, reading Titanic Tompson - The Man Who Bet On Everything by Kevin Cook.

Next on the list is the series by Peter Hamilton with the Commonwealth Universe. At least that's where I heard to start with his stuff.

Just wrapped up Under the Dome by Stephan King. It was rad. :thumbsup

I just finished In The Plex, a recent book about Google.
I enjoyed reading it.

I am now considering creating a search engine.

Cockpit is an excellent book... I have assumed everyone here has read it and took notes. :winkwink:

Ever read "Steps"? same author...

I read the the 100 page sample last night (not actually 100 pages but yeah) and went ahead and bought it. It was only like 8 bucks and so far I'm enjoying it. I was aware of the threat before but never really thought about it I suppose.

If you like the Master and Commander series than you should definitely try the Horatio Hornblower series.... BRILLIANT!!!
