Colmike7 I think it will be easier to upload file to server and place link in your sig rather then to go back and copy dozens email addresses from this thread.

When you choose media file it just links to a page with the image and not the jpg itself, which really annoys me. That's the same thing that happens when I choose link to attachment :-S

I mean if surfers will love your sites, Google will love them too. This is how Panda works :2 cents:

What theme is being used on the first blog?

Sure, no problem.

Real quick, but make blogs like danejoneshd.com, lesbeahd.com, danejones.net, femaleagents.com etc. as kind of a tour style blog focusing on the main site you're trying to sell memberships to and you'll make money. :2 cents:
Those blogs alone make high $xxx-lowx,xxx/month with signups and were pretty easy to make.

Averaging a few hundred each for blogs like that. The best is about 25,000/day.

Tapaz 06-12-2013 07:40 AM

wow, what type of backlinks you make on those blogs?

Geirlur, I don't know if I'm quite understanding your problem but it might be one I had, When I made a gallery in WP (latest version) the little box on the upper right was set by default to link to media file. When i published it was linked to the attachment page. What I have to do now to get it to link to the pic is to click it to link to attachment page, then reclick it to link to media file. Why? Who the fuck knows. Might just be my browser or whatnot. Real pain in the ass at first but you get used to double clicking until it becomes automatic.

Ah, I see. Others are having the same problem, mostly with WP 3.5.1 (Which is the latest version.. :( )

Two fixes so far, you mentioned the second one :upsidedow :

1. If you have been using the Text editor to edit your Posts & Pages then locate the [gallery] shortcode and amend it to [gallery link="file"]

2. Try editing the relevant Posts/Pages and creating the galleries again but, this time, toggle the "Link To" dropdown from Media File to Attachment page" and back again.

Glad I could payback, even if a little. I should add that if you are creating the gallery w/WP you don't have to make it, and then edit it. Just click it to attachment page as you make it, and then click it back to media file. Of course due to browsers, servers and how Jupiter alines with fucking Saturn YMMV

Welcome, Can anyone tell me about domains and SEO. In the past I only ran a couple sites and just picked a kewl name and went with it.

Does having a hyphen hurt you as in hot-pussy.com verses hotpussy.com?

How does having subdomains effect you?

I can try to answer that while you wait for better answers :)

I don't think hyphens would hurt you unless you use something like sex-pussy-ass-porn.com

And subdomains works well for me and even better for some competitors so that is a good way to build a bunch of sites if you don't want to invest in domains. This could turn into a big authority site down the road too :)

Thanks Geirlur.
I did some research and this is what I have found out. On hyphens. Well the majority view is that it doesn't hurt in most cases, at least as long, as you say, you don't use to many. Buuuuuuuut I read on thing where these guys had a contest for google rank. The guy that lost had a hyphen in his domain and random generated nonsense for content. So it was assumed that was why he lost. So for the hell of it they switched the content and low and behold the site that now had the nonsense content and no hyphen still won so they concluded all other factors were the same and the hyphen was causing the lower rank.

Conclusion. The hyphen will cause a slight downgrade in rank. I base this on a gut feeling, Namely they are used more to spam than non hyphened domains so Google has to know that. But I emphasize slight. So if you are competing for a popular one where every little tenth of a point counts don't use. For what we are doing it probably won't matter to much. If I need a hyphen to get particular keywords for a site I don't plan on putting tons of work into I'm going to go for it.

On the sub-domain. I'm less sure about this so would appreciate someone more knowledgeable to pipe in. The main thing I see is it ties all your sites together. So don't put a spam site next to one you plan on putting sweat and tears into. What other effects I can't say at this point.

CamDoughCat 06-12-2013 05:21 PM

Google's EMD update on Oct1ish 2012 screwed up a lot of my SERPs using hyphens..
