All we have is CJ... Like I said before... anything you guys know, or know of a friend of a friend who would know how to help find these asshats would be great... not only to fight for the money back, but to also get these asshats punished and/or have their names and faces out there for everyone to see... I would assume he looks like a cross between: :firehair :stoned and :Hollering |

Ouch, that must hurt! I'm very sorry to hear about this.
One thing that I notice about most scammers is that there are inconsistencies in their story One guy (from GFY) recently said to me "Minimum order $2,000" to which I replied "I would first test you out with a small deal, before going for a $2,000 deal", so I suggested "$20 for a test" then he said "no $30 for a test" So initially it's only worth this guy touching his keyboard for $2,000, then the next thing he's desperate for an extra $10. For me that set off all the warning bells and I ended all contact. Next thing everyone on GFY is warning he's a scammer I hope you do get your money back...somehow! |

What was special about this guy's stuff that made you order $40k worth of it from him? I'm just curious because taking a look at the clips store it just didn't look all that unique or awesome.

The legal route you're taking on this, even though its probably something a lawyer advised, is also the most likely for you to never see any bit of that $40k again, unfortunately. Heh, if anything, it will actually cost you/your friend more money, and is also pretty ineffective when going up against fraudsters.
Instead, you need to be a bit creative. Realize and accept that this is not personal, its just business. Sure, bad business, and you got fucked, on purpose, without lube, and in the ass... But you have two goals here now: Goal 1- Recover as much of the $40,000 as possible (including bank fees, etc) Goal 2- Get the fraudster into prison. (Goal 2 is an added bonus and a lot tougher than most people like to believe) Don't show up at the guy's house/biz with a bat/weapon. Don't threaten him or anyone. Don't even have friends show up there, because as soon as you do, you lose the upperhand. It may feel good, but its not smart. You have no idea who the people are, and if they are connected to much bigger and scarier fuckers. No one wants to find out the hard way, right? You should not even make threats about it on here or on anything for that matter. Keep cool, and get the bank on your side. Go to BofA and talk to your branch manager or whichever rep you deal with typically. Would help even more if you've got their premium business banking service, but if you don't its fine. All you really have to do, is tell BofA that you've been defrauded by a criminal in another state, and that you've been getting hit up by the press about it.. and you'd rather keep this an isolated and quiet matter, but need the bank's help to file complaints with the FBI. Yes, that's right, the FBI. Its over state lines, and its bank and wire fraud and criminal as you stated above. The last thing any major US bank wants is negative press attention about how they did nothing as one of their clients lost money to a fraudster over the internet... Its a pretty big fear of theirs. Even though they've done nothing wrong to you, they will never go the extra mile for you unless you make it their problem (or even potential problem). If BofA is on your side, then you have a MUCH better chance at recouping the lost funds. If you don't have immediate assistance of your bank, kiss the cash goodbye. The feds will also respond a lot faster and apply pressure to the local cops sometimes too, to get things moving there. Time is against you. Always. You need to haul ass, otherwise its gonna get forgotten about and ignored. All of this is just my opinion.. but I've got a bit of a rep for doing some pretty high risk collections in your industry and my own, and for waaaaaay more than $40,000. Scammers/fraudsters only get away with it if you're a lazy sack of shit about it. And when you give them a chance or "the benefit of the doubt" for too long, they will fuck you. So go get your fuckin money back. Obviously consult a lawyer first before following any of this advice, but someone who knows their shit. And take action NOW. Posting about it, sure it can be an effective warning to others, but really, you're just wasting time here when you could be at the bank getting their help and taking action! There. No more real contributions from me. Back to the lulz. |

Good advice here.
I would also contact the FBI bureau down where they are and let them know whats going on. The last people those scammers want is the FBI coming around. Wire fraud , as with any federal charge, always includes jail time. . Quote:

I have a rich history of posting here on gfy about the scams and scammers my company has been burned by to the tune of tens of thousands over the years so your pain is felt! What does not kill you only makes you stronger and every scammer who has ever defrauded and taken money from someone who trusted them will get theirs...they get away with it for a while but it always catches up with them in the end Its a disease and the more they steal the more they want to steal...then that helps enable them thinking they are getting smarter, stronger, and better at scamming... Hope this works out for you and props to the ones on gfy offering you real advice! |
Never trust a company with a .us domain name:2 cents:

ATTENTION! Do Not Deal With Florida Based, Pink Video Inc. - 24 report ad posted: May 18, 2011, 01:15 AM Beware of anyone a company based in Florida called Pink Video inc, or any of it's affiliates. There are several people in the area posting ads saying they have been contracted by a Florida based company, and I would advise anyone to steer clear of them. The are completely unprofessional, they pay their talent next to nothing, and are dis respectful to them. The main guy with the companies Name is CJ and he is a low quality, unprofessional person. Not to mention that if you try to find anything about "Pink Video Inc." on the internet, you won't have any luck a few in depth searches on Google, as well as some Incorporated Business Search Sites produced nothing. On another side note. They seem to be sending email through a proxy server that hides their location, because Every email I received came from a different, non-reserved IP address that can be used by anyone, including sites and software that offer "anonymous Browsing." Why would a legitimate company need to hide their location. I was lucky enough not to get sucked into their sleezy, operation, and everyone on here should try to do the same. http://webcache.googleusercontent.co...www.google.com |
And here is an even better one
http://www.adulttalentregistry.com/forum/article148.htm So I've been dipping my toes into shooting video now that I have a DSLR that shoots HD video. There was an ad on my local craigslist looking for shooters so I figured what the hell... and I got a response from CJ of Pink Video, Inc. in South Florida. He seemed to know what he was talking about... industry standard rates, what to avoid, etc... but the one odd thing is he kept insisting that for every girl I have to shoot and submit a "runthrough". I asked if he meant a test shoot... which is something I'm familiar with in mainstream photography... but he insisted that it wasn't a test shoot or audition and that it was something standard that everyone does. It would basically mean shooting a scene with my talent for free to see "if they're serious about doing porn" and would only be used by him as "promotion" even if they performed well and the scene was useable. That was enough of a red flag for me to find out more about this guy... he used a gmail address and had no company website... when I asked him for links he sent me 2 clips4sale sites that had been around since 2008 and had only sold 1 clip. I googled his phone number and found another forum post from a couple years ago but he was using the name BP Films, with several people complaining about the guy. So I'm just making sure... there is no such thing as a "runthrough" right? I'm pretty sure this guy just likes to collect material for his own little personal porn collection. |
