yes, midnight every night if thunderbird is open. otherwise it doesn't. thunderbird keeps trying to check a connection that's not there, so it times out.

amerinoc has confirmed via email that 12am pacific time is when the backups take place. they told me it shouldn't be more than a half hour or so lol.

4 months with Amerinoc, 10 tickets opened and 6 of them about all sites hosted are down or loading slow... I looked a lot before purchase with Amerinoc, and now I'm sure that next year will close this bad host. I use different hosting solutions like dreamhost, bluehost, icertified, hostgator... and my experience with all of them much better than Amerinoc

I've recently consolidated a number of my other hosting accounts to Amerinoc, requested server upgrades, had them add new IPs, add more memory, got a free upgrade to a new RAID server - and a lot more. All for the same price I've been paying the last six years or so.

My experience is LOT different than yours. I'd have a hard time using anyone else. Amerinoc always comes through for me, and - even though I don't have any HUGE accounts with them (have a dedicated and a shared server) - they always deal with my tickets and requests professionally and quickly.

I use both.

I dont know where the hell you are getting that from I have been using hostgater for a little over 3 years now. I have a vps and a load of smaller hosting accounts with them. I have never had problems and they went out of thier way to help me out with a hacking problem which was caused by a shitty script i installed. I have no problems with them at all and thier uptime is very good along with thier support

Amerinoc are good, but when it comes to 24/7 live support; 100's of skilled technicians, nobody comes close to Hostgator

I've had great experiences with Hostgator, online support was always really online and helping you out on the fly. But they are expensive with non-pre-ordered Traffic. I had a dedicated server with 2TB/month and when I went to 3TB they charged 200% for the extra TB, which they reduced to 100% after I told them I would cancel the credit card charge. But it's in their TOS, that they charge you higher fees for overtraffic, but they don't mention any amounts. After that I got a dedicated server elsewhere but I would definitely use HostGator again for low traffic sites.

Also another GREAT thing about HostGator: shortly after activating my accounts on there they wanted me to proof that I was the copyright owner of the movies I was distributing from their server. I had to send them model releases etc. So they actively try to keep pirates from their servers. They also never made a problem about the nature of my content, which is legal, but quite extreme. I think they're allright, but all this was like 3 years ago, maybe things have changed after that.
