Would the program owners be willing to provide all the above personal details and copies of thier id etc to any webmaster that requested it so that they know who holds thier info and who they are working with? I think not , so its a lot to ask for a webmaster or anyone for that matter to provide all that sensitive info to strangers they dont know?

Traffic to webmasters is more valuable nowadays than ever before.

From my experience and being yelled at when we had a link going to PinkVisual from our tours, (accidentally live for one day), WMs flip when they see their traffic going some place else without any credit. It was fixed immediately but the point is, WMs notice this and don't like it.

I think the API is the best idea, this method is picking up momentum and offers the WMs another choice to make more money.
