Winners! The five teams which improved the most in free agency

Quote:

1. Philadelphia Eagles.

It's been a pretty thorough domination of free agency by the Eagles. Not only did they surprise everyone by landing the big prize in Nnamdi Asomugha, their top-notch secondary is also now matched by their front four with the signings of Cullen Jenkins and Jason Babin. They also did well with the Kevin Kolb trade, moving their backup quarterback for Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a second-round draft pick. Then they went out and signed Vince Young, who, if he's ready to accept the full Andy Reid treatment, could still turn out to be a better quarterback than Kolb.

:thumbsup

51 year championship drought comes to an end this season. :thumbsup

With the way Vick plays his body will not hold up all season couple that with the train wreck that is Vince Young and I don't see it happening. They will make some noise but I think they'll end up just another over hyped team exiting the playoffs early.

Ha ha, but I can see why you'd think that.

The niners have as good a shot at the title as anyone though. They showed improvement last year and they did okay in the draft for this year. If their key guys step up and their QB has a good season they could surprise you.

Of course those if's apply to pretty much any team. Let's put it this way -- if I had to bet on the cowgirls not choking this year or whether the niners will improve from last year I'd go with the niners.

Go niners baby.

I'll give you this, you've got an amazing place kicker.

In fact, check this out:

You Are Welcome David Akers

Quote:

David Akers, who until this offseason was the longest current tendered athlete in Philadelphia, recently signed on with the San Francisco 49ers. However, he's leaving Philly in perhaps the classiest way an athlete ever has. He's purchased a billboard saying thanks for 12 great years to the city of Philadelphia and Eagles fans. I'm not sure where it will be, but he tweeted out a picture this afternoon.

I think everyone would join me in saying, "No, David Akers... thank you!"

I always liked David Akers, and don't understand why at this point the Eagles didn't resign him to end his career here. He's an amazing kicker who still has a lot of kicks left in him.
